Writer/artist Jeff Lemire has announced he’ll auction off a piece of original Sweet Tooth art to benefit comic shops as part of the ongoing #CreatorsForComics Twitter auction initiative.
No sooner could Lemire announce his plans to auction the Sweet Tooth art than Watchmen showrunner Damon Lindelof swooped in to offer to match whatever the highest bid wound up being, with the highest bidder getting the art.
Damon Lindelof just agreed to match the winning bid for this Sweet Tooth drawing and you get to keep the art. #creators4comics Winning bid donated directly to @BincFoundation and proceeds go to comic book retailers and indie book stores. In turn, The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman chimed in to offer a bid of $10,000 – with Lindelof matching – and, in Kirkman’s words, the “second highest bidder” then getting the piece.
Lindelof is going to match?! Okay… here’s what I’m doing. I bid $10k AND the art can go to the SECOND highest bidder!
