Writer/artist Jeff Lemire has announced he’ll auction off a piece of original Sweet Tooth art to benefit comic shops as part of the ongoing #CreatorsForComics Twitter auction initiative.

No sooner could Lemire announce his plans to auction the Sweet Tooth art than Watchmen showrunner Damon Lindelof swooped in to offer to match whatever the highest bid wound up being, with the highest bidder getting the art.

In turn, The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman chimed in to offer a bid of $10,000 – with Lindelof matching – and, in Kirkman’s words, the “second highest bidder” then getting the piece.

Dozens of creators are offering up auctions ranging from original art, to signed merchandise, to original art as part of #CreatorsForComics. All proceeds for the auctions go directly to the Book Industry Charitable Foundation (BINC).
