The Mandalorian’s Carl Weathers Confirms Season 3 Has Wrapped Filming

Carl Weathers, star of The Mandalorian, confirms that Season 3 of the Star Wars series has wrapped filming.

Writing on Twitter, the Greef Karga actor retweeted a post with an image of an embroidery hoop depicting Din Djarin’s iconic helmet mashed up with the number three. “..And what a season of WONDERFULNESS!” writes Weathers. The picture itself was initially posted by costume designer Amanda Ramirez on Instagram, captioning the collection of photos with, “That’s a wrap from a galaxy far far away. Thanks for having me this season; it was an absolute adventure. Can’t wait for the next one.” While it was unclear whether only the costume department had concluded worth, Weathers’ tweet suggests that the entire production has concluded.

While The Mandalorian Season 3 does not yet have a release date, fans have plenty to look forward to. The popular series recently confirmed that legendary Back to the Future actor Christopher Lloyd will feature in the upcoming season. While Disney has yet to reveal the character Lloyd will be playing, some fans think he will be portraying Jorus C’baoth, an important presence in the Legends canon.

While audiences can expect a new character from Lloyd, fans can also anticipate the return of another popular Mandalorian. Set photos of the Season 3 production seemingly confirm that Clan Kryze member Axe Woves, played by Simon Kassianides, will make a return. The character was last seen in the Season 2 episode “The Heiress,” running with Bo-Katan’s squad of warriors.

While The Mandalorian has earned a reputation for incorporating various elements of Star Wars lore, there’s one actor who’d love to return to the galaxy far, far away. Samuel L. Jackson, who played Jedi Master Mace Windu in the Prequel Trilogy, recently asked director Bryce Dallas Howard if he could somehow reprise his role in the Disney+ series, despite Windu’s apparent death in Revenge of the Sith. “There’s a huge history of people with one hand returning in Star Wars,” said Jackson. “The only person I’ve ever said that to about coming back was [Howard], ’cause I just did a movie with her. And she directs episodes of The Mandalorian, so, ‘You think you might be able to hook a brother up? I mean you like me, right?’ She’s like, ‘I love you, you’re amazing!’ So, ‘Put me back in there… Put me in coach, I’m ready!'”
