Captain Marvel is one of Marvel’s premiere superheroes. Carol Danvers has been a hero for a very long time, using a variety of aliases before taking up the name of her mentor Mar-Vell. Since then, she’s become one of the greatest heroes on Earth and beyond, defending humanity from every threat out there. She’s the total package — fast, strong, and skilled. Even foes more powerful than her will fall to Captain Marvel’s might in a straight-up fight.
DC‘s heroes are some of the most powerful around, defending their Multiverse from the most deadly foes. While she couldn’t beat all of them, some of DC’s strongest heroes would fall before Captain Marvel.
10 Impulse’s Speed Is Too One Dimensional To Defeat Captain Marvel
Impulse has spent years stepping out of the shadows of his mentors. Born with the Speed Force, the grandson of Barry Allen from the future has come in clutch for Young Justice and the Teen Titans, even acting as the Flash for time. Impulse’s Speed Force powers make him quite formidable, but it’s not going to be enough to beat Captain Marvel.
Cap has a bit of a speed advantage over Impulse, but that wouldn’t usually matter. However, Impulse can’t fly, which means that Captain Marvel can fly circles around him and blast him with powerful cosmic blasts. He could dodge for a while, but she’s going to connect sooner or later.
9 Donna Troy Doesn’t Have Any Long Range Attacks To Match The Good Captain
Donna Troy is one of the most skilled fighters in the DC Universe. As an Amazonian, she’s also quite strong and fast, topping it all off with the ability to fly. She’s well-armed and experienced, helping her Titans teammates with some of the most challenging foes out there. She’s just as good on her own as she is in a group, but her offense isn’t going to be enough to beat Captain Marvel.
The two are equivalent in a lot of ways, but Cap’s cosmic energy abilities are going to make all the difference. She can hit Donna from long range while Donna has to get in close. That’s going to make things rather easy for Captain Marvel.
8 Conner Kent Is Stronger But Captain Marvel Would Play Him Like A Fiddle
Conner Kent has come a long way since his debut. He’s grown in power and experience, helping found Young Justice and joining the Teen Titans. He’s not as powerful as Superman, but he can be a devastating opponent for anyone he faces. He’s also a bit impulsive and easy to manipulate, which will give Captain Marvel the advantage.
Conner is definitely stronger than Cap, but she’s faster, and her cosmic energy powers are much more powerful than his heat vision. On top of that, her energy absorbing abilities would allow her to drain him of the energy that powers him. Superman would know how to deal with this, but Conner wouldn’t, and that would give Captain Marvel the win.
7 Starfire And Captain Marvel Would Have An Epic Aerial Battle
Starfire is one of the most powerful Teen Titans of all time. She’s also a Tamaranean warrior princess, giving her a leg up on many of the foes she’s faced over the years. Starfire and Captain Marvel are an intriguing match. Cap has most of the advantages in the fight, but Starfire’s wherewithal will keep her in the fight much longer than most would expect.
Starfire is a smart cookie, so she’ll keep Cap moving, never letting her get close enough to unload with her greater strength or charge up for a super-powerful strike. It would be a battle of attrition, one that the more powerful Captain Marvel would win eventually.
6 Kilowog Wouldn’t Be Able To Stand Up To Captain Marvel’s Might
Kilowog is the Green Lantern Corps’ toughest drill instructor and one of the physically strongest beings in the Corps. His ring constructs are always powerful and well thought out. Even without his ring, he’s a formidable opponent. That’s going to be to the test against Captain Marvel, who would be able to drain his power ring.
Of all the Green Lanterns, Kilowog is the only one who would challenge Cap because of his physical strength. Unfortunately, he wouldn’t be that much of a challenge, as he can’t fly without the ring. He’s going to find it difficult to deal with Cap, whereas she holds all the offensive cards.
5 Cyborg’s Weapons Would Barely Phase Captain Marvel
Cyborg has changed a lot over the years, getting major upgrades. He’s much more powerful than he ever was, but that’s not going to give him the advantage he’s going to need to defeat Captain Marvel. He can match her mobility in all kinds of ways, but the problem is going to be in the long-range game. It’s going to take a lot for Cyborg to hurt her, and with her energy-absorbing abilities, most of his weapons are off the table.
At that point, he’s reduced to duking it out with her, but she still has all of her powers. She can hit him from long range, and he has no answer for it. That’s not a fight Cyborg can win.
4 Atom Smasher’s Limited Offense Won’t Make A Difference
Atom Smasher is one of the strongest members of the Justice Society. His super strength and growth powers make him one of the team’s most titanic presences on the battlefield, coming in clutch against many enemies. Atom Smasher can be a devastating hero, but Captain Marvel is too multifaceted for him to deal with.
There’s a reason Atom Smasher works with teams; he’s strong, but that’s it, and the bigger he grows, the bigger a target he is. That will make it pretty easy for Captain Marvel to cut him down to size. She can make sure he never touches her while blasting him into oblivion.
3 Big Barda Would Challenge Captain Marvel, But She’s Not Going To Win
Big Barda made a name for herself as the most formidable of the Female Furies, one of Darkseid’s most powerful elite groups. Since then, she’s worked with some of the greatest heroes around, including serving with the Justice League. She’s a strong experienced soldier, and she’s definitely stronger and more durable than Captain Marvel. Her biggest drawback against Cap is that she can’t fly.
If Barda could match Captain Marvel’s mobility, she’d make mincemeat out of the Avenger, even without an equivalent long-range attack. Since she can’t, Cap is going to be able to outmaneuver and outgun her, costing Barda the battle.
2 Mister Miracle Would Hold Out For A While, But He Couldn’t Win
Mister Miracle is the greatest escape artist of three worlds. The husband of Big Barda, since escaping Apokolips with her, he’s become one of New Genesis’s greatest soldiers. He’s not the most powerful of the New Gods, but he’s one of the most resourceful, which has served him well. He’s going to give Captain Marvel a run for her money, but that won’t save him.
Mister Miracle’s Mother Box and Aero Discs will help him in the fight, and his cunning would keep him a step ahead of Cap for a while. Eventually, Miracle’s luck would run out, and Captain Marvel would tag him hard enough to slow him down. Once that happens, the fight is over.
1 Wonder Woman’s Lack Of Long Range Offense Would Be Her Undoing
Wonder Woman is one of DC’s greatest heroes. She’s one of the most skilled warriors around and has faced down threats that would freeze the blood of even the stoutest heart. She’s basically everything Captain Marvel wishes she was and is her superior in strength, durability, and skill. Unfortunately for Diana, Cap is faster and has better long-range options, which will win her the fight.
The two would definitely have an epic battle. Wonder Woman may be outgunned, but she’s not going to make it easy on Captain Marvel. Both women are very smart fighters, but in this case, Cap just has to stay out of Diana’s way and blast her. With her greater speed, that’ll be a snap.
