Young Justice is a wildly popular animated show that has developed a huge community of fans, having aired on and off since 2010 on Cartoon Network. Young Justice features dozens of young DC heroes standing up and helping people. These are some of the bravest and boldest heroes that DC has to offer and Young Justice lets them showcase their perseverance and resilience.
Young Justice has tackled countless issues and, although the original appeal was to kids, it holds plenty of content that appeals to an adult audience as well. The characters are well fleshed-out, and some have shown particular fearlessness in times of need.
8 Tim Drake Is Brave And Loyal
Tim Drake is unique amongst Robins because, while Dick and Jason were adopted into the life of crime-fighting, Tim sought it out. He wanted to be Batman’s partner and Tim displays this same tenacity in Young Justice. He wants to help people and keep his city, friends, family, and the world safe.
Despite having no powers, he throws himself at any threat and danger to keep others out of harm’s way. He follows Batman’s example and doesn’t kill, he only wants to help his teammates and serve the people.
7 Aqualad Stepped Up To Lead The Team
Aqualad is a man without fear. He has overcome all obstacles in his path and become one of the greatest heroes of his time. When the team was without a leader, he stepped up and led Young Justice. When Aquaman needed a successor, he became the new Aquaman and served in the Justice League. He was brave enough to come out as polysexual and be true to himself. He dives headfirst into battle, with no regard for his own safety, only wanting to minimize the danger to others.
6 Blue Beetle Overcame The Terror Of An Alien Invasion
Blue Beetle was just a kid when he became attached to an alien parasite, which was part of a very powerful alien race that intended to invade Earth and take over. Not only did he learn to control and live with his alien companion, but he stood up to a vicious and deadly alien race and helped the heroes of Earth to stand up against them.
While it would have been easier to side with the invaders, and definitely safer, Jaime Reyes didn’t take the easier path. Despite being new to the hero game, he was brave enough to help everyone.
5 Kid Flash Sacrificed Himself For Others
Wally West is one of the bravest members of Young Justice and in all of the DC pantheon of heroes. He raced through a blizzard to get a new organ to someone in need and fought bravely against any threat that came his way.
He was stood up against his mentor to help create Young Justice, defying the orders of the whole Justice League. Finally, he sacrificed himself to save everyone, leaving behind Artemis and all his friends. He was devoted to saving the world, knowing it would take his life – which didn’t stop him.
4 Nightwing Has Always Stood Up For Others
Nightwing was a founding member of Young Justice and the original Robin for Batman. When Young Justice started, Nightwing was just a kid. He had no powers, an overbearing mentor, and a will to make a bigger difference. He defied Batman and started Young Justice.
He led the team to success, growing the organization to new heights. When he felt like the Justice League wasn’t helping people enough, he started the Outsiders. At every turn, he followed his heart and did what was right, regardless of who he had to defy. He was courageous enough to keep doing the moral thing.
3 Beast Boy Faces His Own Demons
Beast Boy may seem to be the lighthearted comedic relief of Young Justice, but he harbors some large issues and traumas. Despite his declining mental health and combatting his own traumas, Beast Boy never gives up. He continues to fight, make jokes, and work hard to build himself and his teammates up.
The bravery of fighting his own demons is admirable. It’s often harder to fight against himself than to fight against the true monsters of the world.
2 Miss Martian Never Backs Down From Anything
Miss Martian has dealt with constant disappointments, roadblocks, and difficulties on her hero journey. She dealt with self-doubt and prejudice, as well as trying to find her place in a strange new world. Through it all, she stood strong with grace and courage.
She never faltered in her path and didn’t change what her goals were to bow to other people’s expectations. She constantly used all her abilities in service of others, both by saving people and helping to heal people.
1 Superboy Follows In His Mentor’s Footsteps
Superboy follows in the footsteps of Superman and proves that it’s more than just their powers that make them super. Without a doubt, Superbly is the bravest member of the team. This is not just because he can be, but because he knows he has to be. Wearing that emblem sets a lot of expectations for him, people look up to him to lead and never back down.
He wears the pressure well and leads his team members from the frontlines. He helps young heroes find their paths and gives them a safe place to be themselves. This courage makes Superboy one of the most fearless characters in Young Justice.
