Peacemaker Just Topped The Book of Boba Fett | CBR

WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Peacemaker, Season 1, Episode 7, “Stop Dragon My Heart Around,” available now on HBO Max, and The Book of Boba Fett’s season finale, now streaming on Disney+.

In the Season 1 finale of The Book of Boba Fett, Grogu and Mando had their most heartwarming moment. When they were reunited on Tatooine during the war on Mos Espa, Baby Yoda jumped into Din’s hands. They embraced amidst a firefight, and while it was cute and funny, it was a sentimental moment for many fans. It spoke to Grogu’s endearment, as well as Mando’s attachment, humanizing their bond a lot. It further proved Grogu wanted his ‘dad’ back over a path with the Jedi; however, as emotional as that sequence was, Peacemaker outshone it a day later.

This came after John Cena’s Chris killed his racist dad, Auggie and took Eagly to a vet. The White Dragon battered Eagly in their fight, wanting to hurt the pet for being Chris’ friend. Auggie conditioned Chris to embrace a life of violence, which is made even worse by Chris killing his brother by accident in a fight club. This drove Auggie to want to ruin Chris, so damaging Eagly added to that. Chris found this untenable, and he finally shot his father in the head, ending decades of abuse.

When Adebayo spied in on Chris at the vet, she found him praying next to Eagly. It was a sight rarely seen, as Peacemaker was more about weapons, sex and bullying whenever he opened his mouth. However, this scene was him at his most vulnerable, as he begged God to bring his buddy back.

Deep down, Eagly was his brother and the only person he trusted. Plus, the bird was needed now more than ever after Chris lost faith in the idea of family, all due to Adebayo planting a diary in his trailer to frame him as a scapegoat for Amanda Waller. The bird represented trust, salvation and a miracle. Luckily, Eagly rose up and hugged him in the show’s most tear jerking scene, which was a rebirth more than a continuation, like with Mando and Grogu.

It just meant so much to Chris, but also, to Adebayo, who teared up. She never believed the marksman when he said they hugged in the past, but now, she realized there was some divine power looking down on Chris, reaffirming her belief he could be a hero. While Eagley and Chris embraced, she was inspired and made amends with her wife, Keeya, after freezing her out to do Waller’s dirty work. She no longer cared for her mom’s wicked ways and moved to nominate Harcourt as the new leader after Murn’s death.

Chris still didn’t trust her, but Adebayo believed Harcourt could harness more of this faith and belief from him, and she spread it to the team so they could finish off the aliens. What made her even more confident was Chris was their trump card once more, feeling reassured with Eagly at his side. This scene not only was important for Eagly and Chris, but it also impacted the whole team in some way, which takes it to the next level.
