The newest Korean survival drama, All Of Us Are Dead, has captured Netflix viewers’ attention. The show centers primarily on a group of high school students trapped in Hyosan High during a zombie virus outbreak.
To escape the school and survive, the students have to go through hordes of the living dead, some of whom are their family members and friends. It only takes one bite for them to lose all hope of survival, and become one of the undead monsters. Suffice to say, not every student survives the ordeal. In fact, other anime characters may have had better luck.
10 Katsuki Bakugou’s Battle Skills Would Help Him Survive Even Without His Quirk (My Hero Academia)
Most My Hero Academia characters would have a fair shot at surviving a zombie virus outbreak. But even Quirks aren’t everything, and some students of Class 1-A would have a better shot than others. Katsuki Bakugou’s Quirk Explosion would be very loud and draw the zombies’ attention to him, but that may work in his favor considering the amount of damage he can unleash in a small area.
Katsuki has also proven he’s capable of working around his Quirk’s drawbacks and would know how to exploit the specifics of the zombies’ weaknesses. Without his Quirk, Katsuki is highly skilled in battle, a capable strategist, and determined to keep his teammates safe. It certainly wouldn’t be easy, but Katsuki would survive.
9 Suzaku Kururugi’s Live On Geass Pushes Him To Survive (Code Geass)
Code Geass’s Suzaku Kururugi may not have superpowers, but sometimes he seems to come awfully close. His unusual spin-kicks have practically become a meme, earning him the nickname Spinzaku, and he’s so fast he can outrun bullets.
His biggest problem is his desire to die, caused by the childhood trauma of having killed his father. After receiving a command to ‘Live On’ from his friend-turned-enemy Lelouch vi Britannia, Suzaku is forced to do anything in his power to survive. The zombies really don’t stand a chance, as Suzaku is prone to decapitating each of them with a single kick.

The main character of Haikyuu!! , Shoyo Hinata has a huge love for volleyball. While he may seem easily excitable and cheerful, he has an impressive tenacity that makes him push himself to succeed in his favorite sport. Even when everyone claims his height disqualifies him from achieving too much, Shoyo doesn’t give up.
He is proven right, as his incredible jumping ability compensates for his lack of height. His impressive speed far outclasses anyone on his team and his stamina seems unlimited. This gives him a high chance of surviving during a zombie apocalypse as he would be very difficult to grab and he’d slip past even the fastest zombies.
7 Kaname Kuran Is A Millennia-Old Vampire With Skills To Match (Vampire Knight)
Sometimes, the best solution to a problem is to fight fire with fire. When up against a horde of undead, it’s not a bad idea to throw another one at them. Vampire Knight’s Kaname Kuran isn’t a regular high schooler. He is in fact millennia-old and one of the progenitors of the vampire race.
Like all Pureblood vampires, he is immortal, which may make him immune to a zombie virus. His powers are nearly limitless, including telekinesis, familiar summoning, enhanced strength and speed, and commanding other vampires. He would probably mow through the hordes of undead without too much difficulty.
6 Takashi Komuro Is Determined To Survive At All Costs (Highschool Of The Dead)
When it comes to zombies in a high school, it’s hard to not think of Highschool of the Dead. The characters in the series definitely do their utmost to survive the onslaught of the zombies referred to as ‘them.’ A notable example is protagonist Takashi Komuro. Skilled in melee combat and firearms, he originally fights with a metal bat, then uses various types of guns, including a Smith & Wesson pistol and two shotguns.
But what really gives Takashi an edge over the rest of the characters in Highschool of the Dead is his determination to survive at all costs. He always prioritizes his team’s lives as well as his own, even when he’s forced to make ruthless decisions. Shortly after the beginning of the Outbreak, he is capable of killing his infected best friend Hisashi. This type of mindset is essential and would a useful weapon against the undead.
5 Nobara Kugisaki Isn’t Afraid To Inflict Pain On Herself (Jujutsu Kaisen)
Nobara Kugisaki is a first-year student at Jujutsu High training to be a sorcerer alongside her friends Yuji Itadori and Megumi Fushiguro. Confident and determined, Nobara is one of the main characters in Jujutsu Kaisen, and has proven herself in battles against highly-ranked cursed spirits and other sorcerers.
On one notable occasion, when poisoned by the Death Paintings Eso and Kechizu through their Decay technique, she doesn’t hesitate to harm herself to defeat them. A skilled and relentless fighter, Nobara also has a practical outlook on life, willing to do anything to survive. Unlike Yuji, who feels grief-stricken over killing humans, she accepts it as a necessity.
4 Tatsuya Shiba’s Powers Make Him A One-Man Army (The Irregular At Magic High School)
When up against an army of zombies, no one would be more useful to have around than a one-man army. The main character at The Irregular At Magic High School, Tatsuya Shiba is considered a ‘weed’. In reality, he is a born specialized magician who can use three types of highly specialized magic, Decomposition, Elemental Sight, and Regrowth.
He is also highly skilled at ninjutsu, able to sense dangerous presences without using his magic. Using Mist Dispersion, he can obliterate any living being or object. Having been called a God of Destruction, Tatsuya would do more than survive – he’d probably stop the zombie outbreak on his own.
3 Tatsumi Oga May Feel A Zombie Apocalypse Is A Pleasant Experience (Beelzebub)
The protagonist of Beelzebub, Tatsumi Oga may be a high school student, but he’s also a violent delinquent who takes pleasure in inflicting pain on others. He is originally an expert hand-to-hand combatant, using his immense strength to defeat his opponents with a rough but efficient fighting style. His brutal character turns him into the ideal parent for the demonic child Baby Beel, at which point he gains even more abilities.
Once his connection with Beel tightens, he is able to channel the baby’s demon powers to expand his Zebul Spell, and with it, his strength and magical potential. Tatsumi would certainly survive a zombie apocalypse – he may even find it a pleasant experience, as it would allow him to beat countless opponents.
2 Rin Okumura’s Flames Would Make Short Work Of The Zombies (Blue Exorcist)
If there’s one thing most zombie series can agree on, it’s that zombies aren’t fans of fire. As the Son of Satan, Blue Exorcist’s Rin Okumura may be their natural enemy. His enhanced strength and regeneration power make him highly resistant to their skills. His demonic heritage gives him the ability to summon the flames of Satan. With Rin around, the zombie hordes would find themselves with a big problem on their hands.
1 Suguha Kirigaya Is A Determined And Fierce Kendo Fighter (Sword Art Online)
Sword Art Online’s Suguha Kirigaya is Kirito’s cousin and adoptive sister. She plays an important role in the Fairy Dance Arc, where she appears as the Sylph Leafa in Alfheim Online. But Sugu’s skills extend into real life as well. She has trained in kendo from a very young age, and her skills have allowed her to become a national quarter-finalist. She has an upbeat personality that only truly falters when her brother is injured.
But even then, she proves to be impressively determined. Despite hating SAO for trapping Kirito, she joins ALO out of the desire to understand him. Her protectiveness and fierce character would make her a strong contender in the battle against the zombies.
