The Batman’s IMAX Poster Reveals Early Screening Info | CBR

A new poster for The Batman reveals when and where early screenings of the film will take place.

The poster, which you can see below, is by acclaimed artist Bill Sienkiewicz. Just above the left wing of the poster is a URL that leads to a page filled with locations where advance fan screenings in IMAX will take place, tickets for which go on sale on Feb. 8 at 9AM PT. The showtimes are listed as at 7PM on March 1 and those who purchase advance tickets will receive a copy of Batman: The Long Halloween #1, by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale.

Sienkiewicz is a comic book artist known for his work on such series as New Mutants and Moon Knight. Over the course of his career, Sienkiewicz has received a number of high-profile awards.

The Batman is set in the second year of Bruce Wayne’s (Robert Pattinson) crimefighting career and sees him investigating a serial killer known as The Riddler (Paul Dano), who has been targeting Gotham City’s elite. During his investigation, Batman encounters a number of key characters from the comics, including Selina Kyle/Catwoman (Zoë Kravitz), Carmine Falcone (John Turturro) and Owald Cobblepot/Penguin (Colin Farrell).

At the time of writing, early projections see The Batman pulling in around $150 million domestically over its opening weekend, which would be considered solid for the film. While Warner Bros. has not yet greenlit any sequels to The Batman, Pattinson confirmed earlier this month that the film sets up a sequel. Additionally, Warner Bros. is working on HBO Max shows spun out of The Batman, including one centered on the Gotham City Police Department and another on the Penguin. Director Matt Reeves has also teased the possibility of additional projects depending on The Batman‘s performance and reception.

Ben Affleck, who played the Dark Knight in the DC Extended Universe, was originally slated to write, direct, produce and star in The Batman. However, plans for the movie have changed drastically since it was first announced. Affleck eventually departed the project entirely and it is now no longer expected to take place in the DCEU. Last month, Reeves explained the decision, saying that, ultimately, he wasn’t interest in having to address Batman’s Justice League allies in the film.

The Batman releases March 4, with tickets going on sale on Feb. 10.
