Catwoman: Hunted’s Bloody Ending, Explained | CBR

WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for Catwoman: Hunted, now available for 4K UHD, Blu-ray and digital HD.

In Catwoman: Hunted, Selina Kyle embarked on the most important mission of her life, partnering with Batwoman/Kate Kane as part of an Interpol project. If she helped the team take down Leviathan, she’d be pardoned from all her crimes and return to Gotham City with the clean slate she always wanted.

It wasn’t easy as Leviathan had many operatives working for leader Barbara Minerva, which led to a brutal showdown at their European base. Luckily, Selina’s allies proved to be quite effective, which crafted a bloody, twisty ending that confirmed how much of a genius Catwoman really is.

The Cat and Kate took out fiends, such as Nosferata and Cheshire, to kickstart the final act. It led to them crashing through the roof and into Barbara’s base, where villains like Black Mask, Boss Moxie, Mr. Yakuza and Tobias Whale lay in waiting.

Selina was atop her game, slashing Tobias up and inspiring Kate to batter their enemies. It culminated in a series of brutal brawls, with Julia Pennyworth, King Faraday and their soldiers entering the fray to finish off the terrorists. Most of them were arrested, which resulted in Selina’s record being expunged as promised.

The battle was far from over, as Selina had to fend off a squad of ninja sent by the real leader of Leviathan: Talia al Ghul. Thankfully, Kate arrived to help out, leading to a competition where the Cat just managed to take out more assassins than Batwoman. Talia then unleashed Solomon Grundy, which culminated in a horrific brawl where Selina blew him up with dynamite.

Barbara also came after Selina in her Cheetah form. With Kate temporarily nullified, Cheetah clawed and scratched to show who was the real Catwoman. They fought atop a tower, with Selina getting the upper hand and strangling her. Lightning struck the crane they were on and threw them off, but Kate caught and saved the falling. Unfortunately, Cheetah got impaled when she dropped on metal rods at a construction site below.

Selina Played The Authorities In Catwoman: Hunted

As Kate and Co. patched the Cat up, she indicated they needed to hunt Talia down. For her, though, the job was over, so she was heading home. A major twist ensued, however, when Faraday joked about the coincidence in them finding Catwoman. She confessed it wasn’t luck; she committed previous heists knowing they’d track and recruit her.

She wanted to join to cripple Cheetah’s empire as it was involved in trafficking young women. Selina had an affinity for strays, so she needed to bring the ring down. She left the crew, only for Julia to reveal she stole the Cat’s Eye emerald from their plane. It was the gem that brought all of them together, but rather than leave it with Interpol, the Cat was always taking her prize. Catwoman: Hunted ended with her in the ocean, phoning Holly back home to let her know she’d be bringing cash for the runaway girls, proving the Cat was a true puppet master.
