Pokémon Legends Arceus: How to Expand Your Inventory | CBR

With Pokémon Legends: Arceus taking a leap toward an open-world experience, the game has plenty of distinct mechanics from traditional main series Pokémon games. The game places a heavy emphasis on crafting, meaning players will find themselves collecting more items than they normally would. However, the caveat is that the trainer’s bag no longer holds an infinite number of items.

At the beginning of the game, Captain Cyllene entrusts new trainers with a Satchel that will serve as the portable and primary inventory on their journey throughout the Hisui region. It comes with a limited capacity of 20 slots, which (while duplicates of the same item do stack) is nowhere near enough to store all the materials players are bound to come across as they progress with the story.

In addition to the trainers’ own inventory, Pokémon Legends: Arceus lets players store items for safekeeping in chests found at various locations in the game, including the trainer’s quarters, villages, camps and workbenches. Though items need to be in the Satchel when crafting on-the-go, they can still be in the chest when using non-portable workbenches. That said, even with remote storage options readily available, players will want to expand their inventory to avoid missing any rare items they may come across.

Players can start purchasing Satchel upgrades relatively early in the game. After reaching the seventh main story mission and learning more about Noble Pokémon, players will meet a man named Bagin in Jubilife Village’s Galaxy HQ. Coincidentally, the man’s area of expertise is storage management, and he will offer to teach the aspiring trainers the art of carrying more items in the Satchel for a set fee. From that point on, players can return to him at any time to increase the number of slots in their Satchel, provided they have the necessary funds.

Bagin will charge only 100 Pokémon Dollars for the first inventory slot expansion, but the cost of his services will eventually rise. Although the price will steadily increase by 100 for the first few expansions, players can expect to see a sharp incline after purchasing the fifth slot. Over time, Satchel expansion will set the trainers back for hundreds of thousands of Pokémon Dollars, with the final slot boasting a price tag of mind-boggling one million.

On the whole, trainers will be able to expand the capacity of their Satchel by additional 37 slots for a grand total of 4,199,500 Pokémon Dollars. While some players may not feel inclined to pursue all inventory upgrades, Pokémon Legends: Arceus will provide ample opportunity to increase in-game funds as the trainers continue to explore the overworld.
