Merchandise featuring the Bat and the Cat can be right there in the theater with audiences viewing The Batman.
As part of Warner Bros. Pictures’ promotion for The Batman, fans will be able to buy commemorative merchandise bearing the likenesses of the film’s marquee characters. The items, which are available exclusively in participating theaters, include disposable bags, reusable popcorn buckets and oversize soda cups, each adorned with images of Robert Pattinson as he appears in the film. Furthermore, fans who opt to buy the soda cup will be able to choose between one of two different figurines, either Batman or Catwoman, which fit into the cup’s lid. These figures stand roughly 3.5 inches tall and, like other cup toppers, can be removed from the drink’s lid for individual display.
In The Batman, Pattinson’s Dark Knight develops a tumultuous relationship with Zoe Kravtiz’s Catwoman, another vigilante who roams Gotham City. The film’s trailer indicates that Bruce will question whether or not he should trust Catwoman in the film, admitting to Alfred that he’s not sure if he considers her a friend, and further footage shows the two in hand-to-hand combat. However, as in the comics, this tension will lead to a budding romance, as Catwoman tries to uncover the truth behind Batman’s double life and learn more about the man behind the mask. In a recently released clip, Colin Farrell’s Penguin looks at the two and observes, “You guys are a helluva duet in here.”
While fans have to wait to pick up The Batman‘s miniature Batman and Catwoman figures, there are plenty of alternative items to purchase in the meantime. McFarlane Toys has launched a line of 7-inch scale collectible action figures, including renditions of Batman, Catwoman, the Riddler, the Batcycle and two different versions of an unmasked Bruce Wayne. Furthermore, Funko has released over a dozen products featuring The Batman‘s characters, spread across their fan-favorite POP!, POP! Rides, POP! Jumbo and Plush lines.
Though The Batman promises to be one of the hero’s darkest movies to date, Warner Bros. has also licensed family-friendly toys for children of all ages. For example, Spin Master recently released a 12-inch talking Batman that features quotes from the film and a light-up chest. Additionally, LEGO’s releases let fans build Gotham City’s key locations, with sets that center on the Batcave, Batmobile and Batman’s pursuit of Catwoman via Batcyle.
The Batman hits theaters on March 4, at which point fans can acquire the theater merchandise while supplies last.
