Vi is one of the main characters in Arcane, a Netflix spin-off of the multiplayer online battle arena game (or MOBA for short) League of Legends. Though she is known as one of the playable characters in the popular video game, fans were able to see a different side of her through Arcane, learning a lot more about her.
Throughout the first season of Arcane, Vi faced a lot of failures, from getting her family into trouble with Piltover’s enforcers to trying to save her sister years later. These are Vi’s ten biggest failures.
10 She Broke Into Jayce’s Study With Her Siblings
After hearing that Jayce’s study had valuable things from Ekko, Vi took her siblings there so they could loot the place. Though they were able to get a lot, Jayce returned quicker than they thought he would, and they had to escape as quickly as possible. In doing so, Powder accidentally broke a Hextech Gemstone, causing it to explode. On their way back home, they got into a fight and, in order to avoid getting hurt, Powder had to get rid of the items they stole, making their entire mission a failure.
9 She Drove Vander To Sacrifice Himself
Because he led their parents to their deaths, Vander adopted Vi, Powder, Mylo, and Claggor, raising them as their own. After they blew up Jayce’s study, Piltover’s enforcers tried to find them and Vander knew that in order to protect the kids, he would have to turn himself in. The enforcers knew that he had nothing to do with it directly, but arrested him anyway. However, this was all part of Silco’s plan, who had used the enforcers to get to his old friend and capture him for himself.
8 She Abandoned Powder
Vi witnessed Silco capture Vander and told her siblings about it. While she accepted Mylo and Claggor’s help in saving him, she wanted Powder to stay behind, as she didn’t want anything bad to happen to her.
Powder didn’t understand this and thought that she could use the Hextech Gemstones to save her family. However, her actions accidentally killed Vander, Mylo, and Claggor instead. Once Vi found out, she abandoned her sister, allowing Silco to find her and raise her as his daughter.
7 She Got Arrested And Spent Years In Prison
Though Vi walked away from Powder, she tried to return once she noticed Silco talking to her. However, Marcus snuck up on her and arrested her. Nobody knew that she played a role in Jayce’s study getting blown up, but she was in prison for years regardless, hoping that she would one day be set free so she could find Powder. Eventually, Caitlyn let her go so she could help her find Jinx, not knowing that she and Powder were the same person.
6 She Was Injured In Her Fight With Sevika
When Vi returned to the Underground, she found Sevika. Wanting to get revenge due to Sevika betraying Vander, Vi attacked her. Though Vi fought well and was able to hurt Sevika, she was also injured in the battle. Sevika stabbed Vi after telling her that Powder became Jinx. Luckily, Caitlyn was able to save her by shooting at Sevika, causing her to run away. Afterward, Caitlyn had to keep her somewhere safe while she and Huck got a potion to heal her with.
5 She Was Taken By The Firelights
When Vi had gone with Claggor and Mylo to try to save Vander, she gave Powder a flare and told her to fire it if they ever got separated so they’d be able to find each other. Powder held onto it and would eventually use it after hearing that Vi was still alive from Sevika.
Though Vi was happy to finally reunite with her sister, despite how much she had changed, Jinx was upset to learn that Vi was working with Caitlyn, who wanted the Hextech Gemstone she stole. While they tried to talk things out, the Firelights interrupted them, capturing Vi and Caitlyn.
4 She Had To Leave Jinx And Ekko To Fight Each Other
Vi was shocked to learn that the leader of the Firelights was Ekko, and after getting him and Caitlyn to understand each other, the three agreed that they would bring the Hextech Gemstone to Piltover’s Council together. On their way, however, Marcus and a group of enforcers tried to stop them but were killed by firelights. Jinx arrived afterward, attacking Vi and Caitlyn. Ekko defended the two of them and told them to go to the Council while he fought his old friend. Despite how much she wanted to stay with her sister and her childhood friend, Vi knew that she had to go with Caitlyn to the Council, leaving them to fight, and possibly kill, each other.
3 She Was Turned Down By The Council
When Vi and Caitlyn told the Council about everything that Silco had done and what life was really like in the Undercity, the majority of the members wanted to make peace with Silco. Jayce was the only one that wanted to fight back. Vi, knowing that they couldn’t make a deal with Silco due to how much he hated them, tried to explain that it wouldn’t work. However, rather than hearing her out, the Council had her and Caitlyn leave.
2 She Couldn’t Convince Jayce To Keep Fighting
Because Jayce was the only member of the Council that wanted to fight Silco, he teamed up with Vi to attack a Shimmer production facility. They brought some enforcers to hold the workers back as Vi and Jayce fought a group of chemtanks. Unfortunately, Jayce accidentally killed a child in the middle of the battle. Feeling terrible over it, he wanted to stop fighting, not understanding that by backing down and allowing Silco to do as he pleased, many other people would suffer. Vi tried to convince him that he was making the wrong decision, but he refused to listen.
1 She Wasn’t Able To Stop Jinx
At the end of the series, Jinx had captured Vi, Caitlyn, and Silco. While Vi tried to convince her sister to join her, hoping to get Powder back, Silco wanted her to embrace the person she became. As the two tried to talk to her, she was conflicted and accidentally killed Silco. He told her how much he loved her as he died. Afterward, Jinx told Vi that they had both changed, and shot a missile at the Council, avenging Silco and accepting the person she became.
