REPORT: Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2’s Release Window Surfaces

Fans of the galaxy far, far away may be in for a big 2022 as a new report suggests that the sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will launch towards the end of the year.

According to reputable video game industry insider and leaker Tom Henderson, developer Respawn Entertainment and publisher Electronic Arts are gearing up to unveil Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2. Beyond this, Henderson believes the game will release in the fourth quarter of 2022. “Following today’s announcement that LEGO Star Wars will release April 5th, a May 4th reveal now seems incredibly likely.” His speculation coincides with a report published by Star Wars insider Bespin Bulletin who notes that Fallen Order 2, or whatever subtitle is given to the sequel, will be revealed during the annual Star Wars Celebration.

As for what kind of game fans can expect from Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2, Respawn Entertainment has yet to formally confirm that a sequel is in development let alone provide any significant details on the game. Some fans are speculating that Fallen Order 2 will focus on an entirely new character, acting as an anthology series, while others are sure that Cal Kestis, the protagonist of the original title will continue to explore the ways of the Force.

If the potential 2022 launch of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 isn’t already exciting, then the recent announcement of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga‘s release date should satisfy fans. The highly-anticipated game will collect all nine mainline Star Wars films into one complete package, offering players a variety of mechanics and playstyles that will be a first for the LEGO franchise. Characters equipped with blasters will be able to use an over-the-shoulder camera and aiming reticle to more precisely take down their targets while melee fighters can string together combos with light and heavy attacks. The Skywalker Saga will feature over 300 characters split into different classes, including Bounty Hunter, Scoundrel, Jedi and more.

Beyond Fallen Order 2 and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, fans of the intergalactic franchise can look forward to several other significant releases in the future. Ubisoft confirmed that it’s in the process of building an open-world game set in the galaxy far, far away while Quantic Dream is developing Star Wars: Eclipse, which will be set during the era of The High Republic.
