Jinx is a character from League Of Legends and Arcane. In the game, she is portrayed as a Harley Quinn type character. She is goofy, over the top, finds everything hilarious, and absolutely loves explosions.
Arcane added a lot of the much-needed depth to her character, giving her a backstory and better character motivations. Now, Jinx is a tragic character weighed down by the dark events of her past. She is a product of Zaun’s undercity life. Although her character has improved, she still functions as a villain. Jinx has done several things that have made her unlikable.
10 Jinx Tried To Help Her Friends But Failed
When Vi told Powder that she wasn’t ready to help the group save Vander, Powder didn’t take it well. Instead of realizing that this was Vi’s way of protecting her, she felt that she wasn’t good enough. She couldn’t function without her sister around. After her meltdown, she realized she could trigger another hex crystal explosion. She used multiple crystals, despite knowing the amount of damage one crystal could do. As a result, the uncontrolled explosion ended up killing Claggor and Mylo, and severely injuring Vi And Vander. This scene is particularly painful, given how close the group was to escaping.
9 Jinx Made Dolls Of Her Dead Friends
After Claggor and Mylo’s deaths, Jinx could still hear their criticisms in her head. The voices were so prominent that she would argue with them. Jinx serves as a sharp contrast to Ekko and the Firelights, who had painted pictures to honor and remember the ones that they lost.
Jinx made disturbing replicas of her friends instead. She talked to the dolls while she was working, as though her friends were still there. Ekko explained to Vi that blaming herself for a tragedy would do more harm than good, Jinx never learned this lesson.
8 Jinx Tried To Kill Ekko
Despite her overwhelming guilt in regards to the deaths of her close friends, Jinx didn’t seem to have any qualms with fighting Ekko. Although their fighting scene established their previous friendship, Jinx intentionally tried to kill Ekko. Despite his attempts to forget their past, Ekko wasn’t able to forget their bond, and couldn’t bring himself to hurt her while she was down. Jinx didn’t hesitate to take advantage of this and nearly killed herself in her attempt to take him out.
7 Jinx Attacked The Council Right Before They Could Make Peace With Zaun
Thanks to Jinx, the first season of Arcane ended tragically. Things initially looked hopeful, when Silco made his demands, Jayce considered most of them to be reasonable. He was even able to convince the Council to grant Zaun their independence from Piltover.
Unfortunately, as they were wrapping up the vote, Jinx’s rocket made contact with their window, making fans uncertain as to who would survive. The future of the Piltover and Zaun relationship is unclear, but it is likely that the actions of one person, who had already launched multiple attacks on Piltover before this, could spark a war.
6 Jinx Was Too Possessive Of Vi
Even in childhood, Jinx was attached to Vi. She had multiple meltdowns when Vi left her by herself. In order to get to her sister, she tormented anyone she could to get information. She hated that this reliance was one-sided. Caitlyn’s role as an Enforcer and her close relationship with Vi, deepened her hatred. Believing that Vi would always put her first, Jinx was confused when Vi ran back to the bridge to help Ekko and Caitlyn after Ekko was shot.
5 Jinx Shot A Crow For No Reason
After the time skip, Jinx revisited her group’s old hangout. Once there, she was startled by a crow, who seemed to have no fear of her. After a few seconds of staring at each other, Jinx chuckled, and shot the bird without warning. She shows little regardn for life overall, but this accentuated her callous nature. The bird landed on the remains of one of the shooting range’s targets, as well as her precise shot – for Jinx, anything can be a target. What was once a childhood hobby is now much more sinister.
4 Jinx Is Ruthless Even Towards Her Own Allies
When Silco’s crew is first seen fighting the Firelights, most of them get trapped in yellow crystal. Jinx is the only exception, as she was below deck when they attacked. During her confrontation with a masked Ekko, she began to recklessly shoot her mini gun, not caring who or what she hit. Many of her stray bullets hit her allies, to their dismay. One man expressed fear of Jinx after the altercation, while Sevika grew irate since Silco refused to punish her. She was also angry at Jinx for failing to do her main job, guarding the cargo.
3 Jinx Shot A Vi Look-Alike In The Back
If her treatment of her allies wasn’t bad enough, Jinx reacted poorly when she unmasked one of the Firelights. She was frozen in place while she remembered the tragic events of her past, holding onto a girl’s arm so that she wouldn’t escape. The girl looked terrified, and Jinx didn’t release her until she finally realized that the pink haired girl before her wasn’t actually her sister. Before the girl could get very far, Jinx shot her in the back and flew into a rage. Although audiences never knew the girl, it was still a brutal act to see.
2 Jinx Told Vi To Kill Caitlyn
In the final episode, Jinx kidnapped Caitlyn and gave Vi an ultimatum. She told her sister to kill Caitlyn, and promised that if she did, she would finally get Powder back. Vi recently left Caitlyn but this didn’t matter to Jinx, otherwise she would have simply asked Vi to stay away from her. This request showed just how selfish she had become, as she had grown used to Silco allowing her to have her way. She couldn’t understand Vi’s refusal to take a life, and immediately pointed her gun at Caitlyn in anger.
1 Jinx Mistreats Silco
Silco was far from a perfect father figure to Jinx. He always forgave her wrongdoings, and was so scared of losing her that he would constantly try to manipulate and lie to her. Upon discovering his lies, she repeatedly stabbed him in the face with a needle. Fans felt bad for Silco when Jinx accidentally killed him because he genuinely cared for her. He even rejected the peace offered to him by Jayce in exchange for her. Despite what Jinx did, Silco wasn’t angry, telling her that she was perfect.
