Total War: Warhammer 3 Trailer

The game was revealed in early 2021, with a cinematic trailer releasing a few months later. This established the Chaos Gods as the game’s antagonists, showing the various factions going to battle against each other while focusing mainly on the Kislev. More recently, fans received a better look at Total War: Warhammer III‘s maps and gameplay, though most of the official trailers have focused on the narrative and the different races. There have also been beta streams of battles, further whetting players’ appetites to finally get in on the action and play the game themselves.

What We Know About Total War: Warhammer III

Like the previous two games, Total War: Warhammer III will incorporate both real-time and turn-based elements, with the battles being action-oriented and mechanics on the map being turn-based. Interacting with various map elements, players gather resources while either working alongside or fighting against other factions. These include two human groups (Grand Cathay and Kislev), the four Chaos Gods (Khorne, Tzeentch, Nurgle and Slaanesh), as well as the Ogre faction that’s available for those who either preorder the game or buy it in the first week of its release. Regardless of which they choose, players can either slay the many daemons that prowl the land or join forces with them.

Total War: Warhammer III will have an even bigger focus on storytelling and narrative, drawing upon Warhammer‘s vast lore. With the Chaos Gods as antagonistic forces of the nature, the game will allow players to explore various options, providing more content for the sandbox title outside of simple fun. Fittingly, the game is set in the Realm of Chaos, which is the origin point of magic in the Warhammer universe. Along with the single-player campaign, players can participate in customizable real-time fights and online multiplayer modes. Players can also unlock different races for multiplayer modes if they have save data from the previous games.

When Does Total War: Warhammer III Release?

Though the game was originally announced with a 2021 release window, Total War: Warhammer III was delayed out of last year. Fortunately, fans won’t have to wait too much longer, as the game is now scheduled to come out on February 17, 2022. It will be available on Windows, Mac and Linux and cost $59.99. Early adopters will be receive the Ogre Kingdoms pack for free, while those who miss out can purchase it later as DLC.
