10 Strongest DC Villains Magneto Could Beat | CBR

Magneto is one of the most powerful beings on Earth. The mutant master of magnetism has had a long history: he survived the Holocaust, has battled the X-Men countless and other heroes countless times, has been de-aged, nearly died multiple times, and finally joined the X-Men and helped found the nation of Krakoa. There are few that can stand against Magneto for long, as his power gives him the ability to use anything with metal as a weapon, including the very blood in his foes’ veins.

Magneto has fought many heroes and villains and triumphed. If Magneto were to face the villains of DC, even the most powerful would fall before him.

10 Bane’s Skills Aren’t Going To Be Enough Against Magneto

Bane Breaks Batmans Back.

Bane’s mix of brains and brawn has made him a very potent foe. He’s beaten Batman rather handily several times, which isn’t exactly easy for anyone to do. As smart and strong as Bane is, that’s not really going to help against Magneto. Bane isn’t a scientist, just a really good tactician. He’s not going to be able to figure out a way to beat someone with power like Magneto’s.

Magneto won’t have that problem. He doesn’t need to figure out a way to beat Bane; he’s taken on plenty of people like him before. It would be a very short fight, and it would end with Magneto flying away from a defeated Bane.

9 Magneto Would Embarrass Doctor Polaris

Doctor Polaris has been battling Green Lantern for a long time, his magnetic powers making him a challenging foe for the ring-slinger. Magneto and Doctor Polaris have powers and a love of the color purple in common, but that’s it. Magneto’s magnetic powers are much greater than Doctor Polaris’s by many magnitudes, which would make this a rather easy fight for the mutant.

Similar powers don’t mean similar levels of skill. Magneto has mastered his powers to an extent that makes him one of the most dangerous people on Earth. Doctor Polaris is a B-list Green Lantern villain. Magneto would mock his foe throughout the fight, one he would easily win.

8 Magneto Would Enjoy Destroying Vandal Savage

Vandal Savage has been wreaking havoc for millennia, his body enhanced to superhuman levels by a radioactive meteorite. During World War II, he fought on the side of the Nazis and that would ensure that Magneto would enjoy going after him. Savage is a crafty opponent and has amazing resources but none of that would save him from Magneto.

Magneto would rip through everything Vandal Savage throws at him. Savage would try to bargain, anything to give him a chance to strike at Magneto, but it would be to no avail. Magneto would tear him apart.

7 Lex Luthor’s Tech Wouldn’t Save Him From Magneto

Lex Luthor Stands Over Metropolis.

Lex Luthor is one of Superman’s greatest foes. He’s one of the most intelligent people on Earth, which has served him well over the years in his battles against the heroes. He’s not a physical titan but his anti-Superman armors give him the oomph he needs to fight it out with the toughest heroes. Unfortunately, too much of his tech depends on metal.

This means that it’s all vulnerable to Magneto’s power. Anything Lex could throw at Magneto would become another weapon against him. While Lex could certainly figure out a way to beat Magneto given time, he wouldn’t be able to do it while Magneto was tearing everything apart around him.

6 Solomon Grundy Is Too Limited To Win Against Magneto

Batman - Solomon Grundy.

Solomon Grundy is one of DC’s greatest henchmen, a physical powerhouse that has battled some of the toughest heroes out there. He’s served as muscle for every major supervillain team and even when he dies, the zombified villain always returns. Unfortunately for him, he doesn’t have what it takes to beat Magneto.

Solomon Grundy is a super-strong foe who can take a lot of damage but that’s all there is to him. He’s not going to be able to hurt Magneto and even though he doesn’t have any iron-rich blood for Magneto to manipulate, he’s not going to survive Magneto pulping him with every metallic object in the area.

5 Magneto Has Too Many Weapons To Use Against General Zod

General Zod has proven to be one of Superman’s toughest foes. His Kryptonian powers make him more than a match for just about anyone out there and should allow him a victory against Magneto. It wouldn’t exactly work out that way, though. Even if there’s no iron in Zod’s extraterrestrial blood, Magneto’s powers are too multi-faceted for the Kryptonian soldier.

Magneto’s magnetic shields have proven to be nigh-impenetrable, so he could protect himself against Zod’s onslaught. On top of that, the entire modern world is Magneto’s weapon and he has control of one of the fundamental forces of the universe. Add all that together and Zod doesn’t stand a chance.

4 Reverse-Flash Has A Chance But It Won’t Be Enough

Reverse Flash Stands Victorious.

Reverse-Flash has proven to be one of the most devastating villains in the DC Universe. His super-speed is a potent weapon, but it’s also one Magneto knows how to deal with. Magneto spent a long time around Quicksilver and even though Reverse-Flash is much faster, it’s the same general principle. On top of that, Reverse-Flash has iron in his blood.

It’s impossible to run when one has a weapons-grade stroke brewing or is being held still by magnetic energy. Magneto could shut Reverse-Flash down easily and that would be that.

3 Magneto Would Show Starro The Conqueror Who’s Boss

Flash, Martian Manhunter and Wonder Woman fight Starro

The Justice League fights a lot of powerful foes and Starro the Conqueror is one of the most dangerous. The world-conquering starfish is a grave threat, his drones allowing him to take control of entire worlds. Beyond that, he’s just a massive alien starfish, which is dangerous enough. Magneto wouldn’t be daunted by him, though.

His magnetic shields would protect him against Starro’s drones and he would target the alien’s most obvious weakness: his giant eye, piercing it with every metallic object he could. It wouldn’t be a pretty win but it would be a win.

2 Metallo’s Very Nature Makes Him Vulnerable To Magneto

Superman’s enemies are a varied lot and Metallo has proven to be one of the most dangerous. Powered by Kryptonite and strong enough to fight Superman, Metallo is tailor-made for fighting the Kryptonian. However, he’s also exactly the kind of enemy that Magneto loves to fight, as he’s made completely of metal.

There’s really not much that Metallo could do to Magneto. In fact, there’s pretty much nothing Metallo could even do in Magneto’s presence if Magneto didn’t want him to do it. The only reason this would be a fight at all is if Magneto wanted it to be.

1 Brainiac Depends Too Much On Metal To Beat Magneto

Brainiac is the ultimate cosmic predator, traveling the cosmos and destroying civilizations. He’s one of the smartest beings in the universe and his ship and drones are extremely dangerous. He’s no slouch himself but he’s also inundated with metal, using specialized ports to interact with his ship. This makes him very vulnerable to Magneto.

There’s a chance Magneto would never even see Brainiac, as he could just tear his ship apart before it ever got to Earth. There are too many ways Magneto could deal with Brainiac and all of them end in the Coluan’s defeat.
