WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan is reportedly suffering from severe health issues.
“He’s having some really bad health issues but he keeps up with me,” fellow Hall of Famer Ric Flair said on his Wooooo Nation Uncensored podcast. “We support each other, good and bad. When I was in the hospital he flew up that day like everybody else that came up to see me…Hulk was gracious, Jimmy Hart was great. I don’t remember seeing them because I was in a coma but they made the effort to go. Those are the kind of things that mean a lot.”
It’s currently unclear what sort of health issues Hogan is suffering. However, his daughter Brooke recently disclosed that her father had undergone his 25th surgery in the past decade. “We counted how many surgeries he’s had in the last 10 years and I think we’re at 25,” she told Hollywood Raw. “He’s done a ton, but this last one that he just had finally was like the winning ticket. So right now, he’s feeling great. He’s working out two hours in the gym every day. He’s still chugging along.”
Hogan’s professional wrestling career began in the late 1970s and took him to the heights of the then-World Wrestling Federation (now WWE), World Championship Wrestling, American Wrestling Association, New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Total Nonstop Action. However, both during his time as a wrestler and since his retirement, he’s suffered numerous health issues, having undergone several major back surgeries before getting a spinal fusion in 2010.
Chris Hemsworth will soon portray Hogan for the Netflix biopic The Hulkster. Hogan himself gave the actor a ringing endorsement after seeing one of the Thor star’s workout photos, writing, “He’s already there! He’s ready BROTHER!!! But is he good looking enough to play me lol, lol, lol.”
“As you can imagine, the preparation for the role will be insanely physical,” Hemsworth said in July 2020 while discussing his Hulkster prep. “I will have to put on more size than I ever have before, even more than I put on for Thor. There is the accent as well as the physicality and the attitude.”
