One Piece is full of a wide variety of characters, from its energetic protagonist Monkey D. Luffy to the villainous Blackbeard. The increasingly large cast of characters was praised by fans for having engaging personalities, fun dialogue, and development over time, especially after the time skip.
However, there are some characters that fans feel would fit better in other anime. Some characters, such as Princess Mansherry with her healing powers, would be better off in lighthearted magical girl or slice-of-life anime. Others, such as Toby and Sakazuki, would be perfect characters in other action anime. Regardless of whether these characters are antagonists or allies, fans agree that they would fit better in different genres of anime entirely.
10 Princess Mansherry & Her Healing Powers Would Be Better-Suited For A Magical Girl Or Supernatural Anime
Though One Piece has many characters with supernatural powers, thanks to some consuming various Devil Fruits, Princess Mansherry came off as one of the most unlikely people to do so. After eating the Chiyu Chiyu No Mi Devil Fruit, Mansherry gained the ability to heal others.
Though this is one of the more benevolent Devil Fruit powers to have in the series, viewers noted that most Devil Fruit-powered people were usually fairly active in combat. Mansherry’s abilities, in contrast, were better-suited to use post-combat or for general healing. Viewers felt that her presence would be better off in a magical girl or fully-supernatural anime.
9 Sora Vinsmoke Would Be Better Off Married To Someone Else In Another Anime
Sanji’s mother, Sora Vinsmoke, died when Sanji was a child. This was because Sanji’s father, Judge, tried to put her under surgical enhancements that would give her supernatural powers. Sora took a drug to counteract the surgery, but she died due to its after-effects.
Considering how sweet and kind Sora was as a person, as well as her kind actions to try to protect her sons, viewers felt that she would probably survive if she existed in a slice-of-life or a less-dark anime in general. Even if she did die in those anime, it likely would not be because her husband forced her to undergo surgery she did not want for herself or her sons.
8 Caesar Clown Would Be The Perfect Antagonist For A Military Anime
Caesar Clown might sound like a clown due to his last name, but he is a mad scientist bent on creating artificial Devil Fruits and using kidnapped children in his experiments. One Piece had a reputation of using fairly dark characters, but Caesar’s existence and his actions were a bit too dark for some viewers.
Many pointed out that his type of character would exist in a dark, military anime considering all of the experimentation. Others likened him to Shou Tucker from Fullmetal Alchemist, thanks to all of the experimentation he did with no regrets.
7 Disco’s Awful Actions Would Not Be Out Of Place In A Darker Shonen Anime
Disco was heavily involved in auctioning off humans at a literal auctioning house in Sanbody Archipelago. Much like Caesar’s existence and actions, viewers felt that Disco’s actions and existence got a bit too dark for One Piece, despite the series having its fair share of lighthearted and dark moments.
Disco’s sadistic behavior towards his victims also reminded many of other abusive antagonists in charge of organizations in darker shonen anime. His personality, in addition to his actions, would make Disco the perfect candidate to feature in a heavily dark shonen anime.
6 Igaram’s Deadly Musicianship Would Make Him Perfect For An Action Anime Similar To Hunter X Hunter
Igaram is a deadly musician who can shoot bullets out of his saxophone and his hair. Though there are other musicians in the series, such as Brook from the Straw Hat Pirates, Igaram’s brand of music and combative abilities are straight-up deadly to anyone and everyone he faced in battle.
Considering how he can easily hide weapons in inconspicuous places, he would be perfect for action anime such as Hunter X Hunter, considering how strategic he is with using his weaponry.
5 Kaya Would Be Better Off In A Slice-Of-Life Anime
Kaya was too gullible for her good when she initially failed to realize that Khladahore was the evil pirate Kuro. She had such a sweet and kind personality, endearing her to viewers that felt bad for her when she realized the betrayal too late. Many viewers wished that she existed in a slice-of-life anime where she could be surrounded by friends that supported her instead of deceiving her.
Kaya was also a sickly young woman when she was first introduced, and it made further sense to fans that her personality and her living situation would be perfect for a slice-of-life anime or even a romance anime if she had the chance to get a love interest.
4 Kuina’s Life Cut Tragically Short Made Viewers Think She Would Be A Good Supporting Character In Other Anime
Kuina was Zoro’s childhood friend and Koushirou’s daughter. Early in the series, it was revealed that Kuina’s gender resulted in her being unable to inherit the dojo after her father, frustrating her to no end. However, Zoro motivated her to look past her gender by telling her that she could still become a great swordsman regardless, and both of them made a promise to become the greatest swordsman in the world.
Unfortunately for Kuina, her life was cut short in a tragic accident, and Zoro took her sword with him to fulfill the promise he made to her.
3 Sakazuki’s Fiery Attitude & Powers Are Well-Suited To Supernatural & Superhero Anime
Sakazuki had a fiery attitude and the powers to match it. Since he ate the Magu Magu No Mi, this enabled him to create, control, and transform his body into magma.
There are also other anime characters with similar personalities and fire powers in darker action anime and in superhero anime like Tiger & Bunny, which would make Sakazuki perfectly fit into those genres. His powers coupled with his attitude would make him perfect either as an ally or an opponent in the combat that dark action anime and superhero anime require.
2 Jabra’s Abilities To Turn Into Wolf Forms Would Make Him Perfect For A Fully Supernatural Anime
Jabra was an experienced fighter who could also transform into an animal, specifically a wolf. Many fans pointed out the similarities he had with other werewolves featured in various supernatural anime and immediately thought of him as a perfect fit.
Considering that Jabra can change into both a human-wolf hybrid and a full-wolf form, much like actual werewolves do while transforming, this only helped further urge fans to imagine him in supernatural anime. Considering his status as an antagonist, however, he would likely take up a similar role in the other supernatural anime as well.
1 Koby Had Such A Short First Appearance That Viewers Think He Is Better Off In Another Anime
Koby showed up later on in the series after his initial appearance and became part of the Navy as he desired, much to the surprise and happiness of fans. Considering the long period between his initial and later appearances, however, many fans wished that his character showed up in a different anime instead. Considering Koby’s dreams of being part of the Navy were initially crushed by finding out how corrupt Helmeppo was, fans thought that he might change direction and become a pirate instead.
Similar characters to Koby showed up in other action anime and became part of the main cast as a consequence of seeing how bad their initial dream team was. Koby could be in a different action anime if he had the chance.
