Supergirl Clip Teases Civil War at CatCo | CBR

CatCo CEO Andrea Rojas has just found herself in a war of words. In a new CBR-exclusive clip from “Truth or Consequences,” the next episode of Supergirl, William Dey confronts her over her decision to use his byline without telling him — and he’s got some choice words for her.

The clip picks up with William storming into Andrea’s office just as she’s wrapping up a phone call. As she ended the call, she glanced down at the latest edition of CatCo Magazine, which boasted the headline, “Lex Luthor in LOVE with Alien Nyxly!”, and smiled to herself… until William started speaking, that is.

“You had no right to using my byline,” he told her, gesturing furiously at the magazine.

“Your name adds veracity,” Andrea replied with a smirk.

“This is my reputation!” he yelled. “You used my name to validate an unethical story, something you’d see in a gossip rag!”

“The journal is the proof that you wanted,” she shot back. “Lex is working with Nyxly.”

“Yes, but this makes them look like a joke,” he retorted. “And in doing so, people may forget how dangerous they really are.”

“We’re taking Lex down,” Andrea insisted. “Why does it matter how?”

“I became a journalist to tell real stories, to report the truth. Your ‘ends justify the means’ excuse makes you just as bad as Lex!” William spat. “You both have no ethical code! I was hoping that you’d wield CatCo’s power and influence for good, but instead, your pathological obsession to be number one made you selfish and short-sighted. What’s important is what you stand for, what you contribute to make the world a better place, and you, Andrea Rojas, stand for nothing.”

Before Andrea could respond to that declaration, the clip came to a close, so Supergirl fans wanting to see what’s next will just have to catch “Truth or Consequences” when it airs Tuesday, Nov. 2 at 9 pm ET/PT. According to the official synopsis for the episode,

THREE EPISODES LEFT UNTIL THE SERIES FINALE — Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) is determined to keep everyone safe from Lex (guest star Jon Cryer) and Nyxly (Peta Sergeant) so she doubles down on patrol, especially as Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Kelly’s (Azie Tesfai) bachelorette party is coming up. Alex is torn between duty and finally allowing herself the time to enjoy her new family. Brainy (Jesse Rath) receives heartbreaking news, and William (Staz Nair) clashes with Andrea (Julie Gonzalo) over her recent coverage of Lex. The episode was directed by David McWhirter with story by Karen E. Maser and teleplay by Emilio Ortega Aldrich & Elle Lipson (#618). Original airdate 11/2/2021.
