Natsu, Fairy Tail‘s main protagonist, has gotten into fights too many times to count. Sometimes, he’s even in way over his head but he still manages to gain the upper hand in the end. With Natsu being an incredibly powerful dragon slayer, there were times his enemies accorded him the respect he deserved.
This was mostly after he’d beaten them senseless. Natsu, whose true power comes from his feelings, was capable of overwhelming opponents who were way stronger than him and as a result, he became a wizard to be feared and acknowledged.
10 Natsu Beat Respect Into Sting & Rogue
During the Grand Magic Games, the twin dragons of the Sabertooth guild, Sting and Rogue, were out for fellow dragon slayers, Natsu and Gajeel. There were priding themselves on their magic power and the fact that they slew their dragons. When the time came for them to duke it out in the arena, they found themselves overwhelmed by the power of Natsu and Gajeel.
When they thought they gained the upper hand and could taste victory, Gajeel and Natsu emerged unscathed and after ditching Gajeel in order to hug all the fun for himself, Natsu proceeded to single-handedly beat Sting and Rogue to submission.
9 Natsu Survived The Fight With Laxus & Gained His Respect Afterward
During Laxus’ attempt to overthrow Makarov as Master of the guild, Laxus was fearlessly confronted by Gajeel and Natsu. He gave them the fight of their lives and very nearly killed them. Many might dispute the outcome of this fight but it was clear that Natsu had a healthy serving of good luck.
After barely surviving and knocking down Laxus, Natsu and Gajeel wound up with severe injuries and were bandaged head to toe. Laxus left the guild regretting his actions and later returned to save Natsu and his former guildmates from Hades.
8 Natsu, Gajeel & Wendy Defeated King Faust & Got Him Petrified
Faust the King of Edolas, wished to gain an eternal supply of magic power and was willing to sacrifice innocent people to get it. He was confronted by the dragon slayer trio of Fairy Tail: Natsu, Wendy, and Gajeel.
They fought relentlessly and ultimately defeated the King. Faust, who was obsessed with taking their dragon slayer magic from them, found himself shaken and disgusted with himself because he tried to control power that was utterly terrifying.
7 When He Returned After A Year Of Training
After he’d gone under the radar for a year, Natsu resurfaced during the Grand Magic Games. The heat coming off him was enough to melt concrete as well as the spectators’ clothes. He challenged every guild present to a fight and wiped the floor with all of them.
After his meeting with the King of Fiore, the victors of that year’s Grand Magic Games came begging on their knees for Natsu to be their big brother. Of course, Natsu scared them away with a few scary words.
6 Even Zeref Couldn’t Help But Be In Awe Of Natsu’s Power & Determination
During Natsu’s bout with the Black Wizard Zeref, Natsu put everything on the line to emerge victorious. Natsu, according to Zeref, set his own soul on fire and was able to conjure the flames of emotion to unleash a devastating final attack on Zeref.
Zeref said to himself that Natsu’s power was so hot that it burned through his magic as well as time.
5 Natsu Defeated Bluenote Stinger On Their Second Encounter
A dark guild plotted to wreak havoc in the town where the Lamia Scale Guild was located. Upon meeting the responsible villains, it was discovered that the former sub-commander of Grimoire Heart, Bluenote Stinger, was working with them.
When Natsu arrived on the scene, he beat the once terrifying Bluenote with a single attack, much to the surprise of everyone present. The dark guild surrounded without any further resistance, perceiving Natsu to be a monster.
4 Natsu Found A New Ally In Atlas Flame, The Fire Dragon
When Rogue’s dragons were tearing down the Royal Capital, Natsu located Atlas Flame, a dragon whose entire body was made of fire. Natsu, who was a fire dragon slayer, decided to replenish his strength by gorging himself with Atlas Flame’s fiery body.
When Atlas Flame recognized Natsu as the son of Igneel, the Fire Dragon King, he halted his attack and helped Natsu fight and defeat Rogue.
3 Natsu Was Able To Defeat Rogue & Stop The Dragon Invasion
Atlas Flame joined forces with Natsu to fight the Rogue who came from the future and they were successful in stopping him and destroying the Eclipse Gate. After his defeat, Rogue respected Natsu enough to share with him the reason he fell to the dark side.
He explained that his Exceed companion, Frosch, was killed and his sadness overcame him and forced him to the dark side. He urged Natsu to protect Frosch and prevent the entire ordeal from taking place.
2 Natsu Commanded Respect When He Obliterated Ikusatsunagi
During their clash with members of a secret cult dedicated to reviving Zeref, Natsu and his friends witnessed the summoning and destructive power of the battle god, Ikusatsunagi. Enraged at the fact that their commander didn’t care that the battle god was wiping out his own men, Natsu took it upon himself to defeat the monstrosity.
He unleashed the power of Igneel and utterly destroyed Ikusatsunagi. The cult members had no choice but to surrender.
1 Cobra Helped Fight Dragons After Hearing Natsu Spurring On The Dragon Slayers
Cobra, a former member of the Oracion Seis, was released from prison to help use his dragon-slaying powers to fight the dragons attacking the city. At the same time, Natsu was instructing that every dragon slayer present pick a dragon and start slaying.
Hearing this, Cobra gleefully jumped into the fray to lend a helping hand to his once bitter enemy. This was an exciting moment for all Cobra fans.
