The Otsutsuki clan is the strongest known clan in the entire Boruto series. Known to be aliens from another planet, the Otsutsuki move from planet to planet and devour all life, updating themselves with new genetic material in the process.
The members of the Otsutsuki clan are quite dangerous and pose a threat to the entire world. While they are excellent villains in the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations series, a lot about them is still a mystery, and quite a lot of stuff that fans have been told makes little to no sense.
10 How The Otsutsuki Clan Became Suddenly Active Makes Little Sense
The Otsutsuki clan was introduced towards the end of the Naruto series and since then, quite a lot of information about this clan has been provided to the fans. It is quite strange that the Otsutsuki seem to come from some unknown planet that’s never been introduced in either Naruto or Boruto.
Even Hagoromo Otsutsuki, the person with a godly understanding of things had no idea about the Otsutsuki clan and never mentioned anything about the existence of this clan on a different planet.
9 There Is No Apparent Leader Of The Otsutsuki Clan
If the Otsutsuki clan comes from a different planet, then there is likely someone sending out the people to consume life of all sorts on a different planet. The goal of the clan is to harvest as many chakra fruits as possible and become stronger to attain godhood. Surprisingly, no leader of the clan has been introduced yet.
If one such person did exist, the fact that a total of five Otsutsuki have died on earth and they’ve not made a single move doesn’t make any sense whatsoever.
8 How Isshiki Otsutsuki Survived The Infinite Tsukuyomi
Isshiki Otsutsuki was the partner of Kaguya Otsutsuki and he came to earth long ago with her. After being taken out by Kaguya, Isshiki found a monk named Jigen who he controlled from inside his head until he gave him a Karma seal.
Surprisingly, all this happened before Kaguya Otsutsuki used the Infinite Tsukuyomi. According to Sasuke, only a Rinnegan can counter the Infinite Tsukuyomi, Isshiki Otsutsuki surviving this Jutsu not once but twice doesn’t make much sense.
7 Isshiki Vanishing After Kaguya’s Sealing Makes No Sense
Isshiki Otsutsuki was quite possibly the strongest person after Kaguya Otsutsuki was sealed away yet he never made his move until recently, which is centuries after. In that time, Isshiki never once thought about getting another vessel or tried to give someone his Karma.
Once again, this makes little to no sense and was decided just because the story is set in the current timeline. Isshiki should certainly have made a move long ago and even found a different vessel.
6 The Otsutsuki Clan Have Many Kekkei Genkai At Once
When it comes to Kekkei Genkai, nothing makes sense about this clan. While all members seem to possess the Byakugan, a lot of them possess other Kekkei Genkai as well. Momoshiki Otsutsuki had the Rinnegan in the palms of his hands and how this came to be is unknown.
At the same time, others such as Urashiki could turn their Byakugan into the Rinnegan, which isn’t even the same evolutionary line of Dojutsu. Jigen possessed a unique eye that had never been seen before.
5 Kaguya Otsutsuki Had Kekkei Mora Dojutsu
Unlike most Naruto characters, Kaguya Otsutsuki had Kekkei Mora Dojutsu instead of Kekkei Genkai. This is quite rare as even the Otsutsuki clan Dojutsu is classified as Kekkei Genkai. However, Kaguya’s Byakugan and Rinne Sharingan were both Kekkei Mora Dojutsu.
At the same time, her son, Hagoromo Otsutsuki had a Kekkei Mora Rinnegan as well. The exact reason for this remains unknown and it makes quite little sense given that there have been stronger characters in the story, such as Isshiki Otsutsuki with just Kekkei Genkai.
4 Urashiki Otsutsuki Powered Up By Eating His Own Eyes
The Otsutsuki clan is known to power up by consuming other life sources with different genetic material. However, in Urashiki Otsutsuki’s case, something bizarre happened in his fight against Sasuke Uchiha and Boruto Uzumaki.
Instead of powering up by eating someone else’s chakra, he did so by eating his own Rinnegan, which had his own genetic material in the first place. Yet, this made him much stronger somehow.
3 All The Otsutsuki Somehow Have A Ten Tails With Them
When Amado defected to Konohagakure, he explained everything there is to know about the Otsutsuki clan to the fans. According to him, every member of the Otsutsuki clan has a Ten-Tails seed that they plant into a planet to drain its life.
In Naruto, however, it was mentioned that the Ten-Tails came to life when Kaguya Otsutsuki fused with the God Tree to take back her chakra from everyone. The nature of the Ten-Tails seeds may be different, however, nothing about it has been explained so far.
2 There Isn’t Even A Single Good Otsutsuki So Far
All the members of the Otsutsuki clan move from planet to planet in order to devour life, however, they certainly are capable of love and emotions. This was seen when Kaguya Otsutsuki married a human and even lived among them when she came to earth. She gave birth to Hagoromo and Hamura, both of which were half-human.
However, Kaguya ended up killing everyone later on. Nonetheless, the fact that the Otsutsuki are capable of these emotions makes it very strange that not even one of the pure-blooded ones have been shown to bond with other life forms.
1 The Otsutsuki Clan Members Have Special Kekkei Genkai
When it comes to Kekkei Genkai, the restrictions on normal ones don’t seem to apply to the Otsutsuki ones for no apparent reason whatsoever. For example, Momoshiki Otsutsuki had the Byakugan but had the ability to read someone’s fate with it, which no member of the Hyuga clan can do.
At the same time, Kinshiki Otsutsuki’s Byakugan allowed him to use space-time ninjutsu with ease and travel to any planet or dimension that he wanted. No other person has been seen using space-time ninjutsu with a Byakugan as it breaks the laws of the Dojutsu completely.
