Pre-Orders for the Xbox Series X Mini-Fridge Are Live | CBR

Pre-orders for the replica Xbox Series X mini-fridge are set to go live, as Microsoft fully embraces the long-lived meme.

The mini-fridge will reportedly hold up to 12 cans of drinks and has two shelves in the door for snacks, although it’s worth noting the shelves look rather narrow. The fridge will ship with a DC power adapter so it can be used on the go, and will also include a USB port on the front. Xbox promised the meme would become a reality after winning a March Madness-style Twitter contest in early 2021. Beating out brands such as Skittles and Spotify, the company went on to officially announce the release during the Microsoft/Bethesda Games Showcase at E3 2021.

The first wave of pre-orders is set to go live in a select number of countries on Oct. 19, via stores that Xbox partnered with for the launch. U.S consumers will be able to pre-order with Target for $99.99. Across the pond, U.K customers can pre-order with GAME for £89.99, while those in Spain, Italy, France, Germany, ROI, Netherlands, and Poland can use GameStop EU, Micromania and Toynk, for €99.00. However, those in Canada will have to wait to make their orders as Xbox stated, “fans in Canada will be able to purchase directly from the Xbox Gear Shop as part of our first wave of deliveries in December. We will share more on pre-orders details for Canada very soon.”

Fans across the globe will be pleased to hear Xbox confirmed it will be bringing the mini-fridge to more countries in the future, stating, “We’re working to bring the Xbox Mini Fridge to as many fans as possible and will continue to expand regional availability in 2022, pending regulatory approvals and restrictions by market.”

The pre-orders are set to roll out over the course of Oct. 19, although exact times for each territory’s release are currently unknown. Xbox executive Aaron Greenberg updated fans on his Twitter account, “our retail partners will drive what time pre-orders go live tomorrow, but as I understand they are deliberately not signaling the time or links in advance. We expect more inventory to be sold in store in December vs online & will share more on supply updates as we know,” explained Greenberg.

Greenberg tweeted to inform fans of the size of the mini-fridge, confirming it stands at 18 inches tall while also posting a TikTok video to show that an Xbox Series X can comfortably fit inside the replica fridge.
