With a diverse Pokédex full of strong and capable creatures, the Pokémon universe, while being a joy to experience via television and video games, is dangerous and unpredictable. While evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of each unique Pokémon, fans can’t help but wonder what it would be like to walk among them. Here are some particularly dangerous Pokémon we would encounter if they existed in real life — and the single deadliest one of all.
Dangerous Pokémon in Real Life: Dragons, Psychic & Ghost Types
While nearly all Pokémon have the potential to be dangerous in real life, some would be more threatening than others. Tyranitar is frequently compared to Godzilla, with similar body designs and destructive capabilities. This giant dinosaurian Pokémon loves to wreak havoc with its massive body, causing earthquakes that could easily wipe out a city in real life. Similar in sheer destructive power is Gyrados, which could also destroy entire cities given its history of reckless rampages in ancient times. Gyrados’ vicious disposition and powerful body would be nearly unstoppable in the real world, leaving a fiery trail of destruction in its wake.
However, sheer destruction and power aren’t the only threats to look out for when evaluating a Pokémon’s threat level. Some Ghost and Poison type Pokémon like Haunter would be nearly impossible to avoid in real life. Haunter has the ability to move through objects and go completely undetected, and one simple lick from its poisonous tongue steals the life from its victim. Psychic types like Hypno would also be a major threat to the real world by controlling human behavior through hallucinations, or even putting people to sleep against their will.
Meanwhile, some hostile Pokémon like Mewtwo hate humans so much that they will go out of their way to kill. As a lethal psychic type, Mewtwo can control the minds of others and create impenetrable force fields while even being shown to create hurricanes simply through his brainwaves. While Mewtwo’s range of incredible genetically-engineered capabilities is enough to earn him second place as the most dangerous Pokémon, his complete disdain and lack of compassion for humans makes him highly likely to kill if we were unfortunate enough to cross paths with him in the real world.
The Most Dangerous Pokémon of All: Yveltal
When it comes to the dangers of a real-life encounter, none are more life-threatening than the “Destruction Pokémon” itself. Yveltal is a dark and flying type legendary Pokémon with abilities comparable to a grim reaper. This Pokémon has the ability to suck the life force out of any and all living things around it, making it capable of killing thousands of people at once. Those it drains turn into lifeless stone and may remain in that state for all of eternity. While Yveltal can take lives by spreading its wings with glowing red feathers, it also causes mass destruction at the time of its death until it retreats into a cocoon to return in another thousand years.
Yveltal’s life-threatening abilities aren’t the only reason it’s the most dangerous Pokémon to encounter in real life. Its aggressive disposition that actively seeks the destruction of all things makes it unrelenting, and it will not hesitate to kill. Yveltal is often referred to as the God of Death due to its cruel behavior by killing every human and Pokémon it comes across. If this isn’t enough to convince you that Yveltal is the most deadly Pokémon to come across in real life, its very name is pronounced with “evil” at the beginning to signify its true nature.
