Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece is the story of Monkey D. Luffy, a boy who sets out to sea to become the Pirate King during the Great Age of Pirates. Leading the Straw Hat Pirates, Luffy has become one of the most capable pirate captains over the years, and fans have been introduced to a plethora of characters throughout his journey.
Despite being a pirate story that has several dark themes, Oda’s One Piece also features incredible comedy that is often associated with some of the most amazing but immature characters.
10 Luffy Has Grown A Lot But Is Often Childlike
Luffy is, by no means, a child. In a world where he’s one of the biggest criminals at the age of 17, Luffy has to grow up quite early, and at the age of 19, he’s become someone capable of protecting countries and fighting the Yonko. However, at his core, Luffy’s personality is very childlike. At times, he comes up with the most ignorant ideas, and at others, he acts as if he’s barely interested in listening to a serious conversation. He was fooled by the likes of Sogeking, and he has some immature tendencies despite being the most mature pirate captain at times.
9 Queen The Plague Is Very Childlike When It Comes To Oshiruko And Parties
Queen is one of the three right-hand men of Kaido, and he has a bounty of 1.320 billion berries on his head, making him a fearsome pirate. At the same time, however, Queen is very immature. Despite being a dangerous pirate, Queen is extremely attached to Oshiruko and would even fight a Yonko over it. At the same time, he loves to be a performer and dance whenever he can. He also writes songs to dance to and is considered to be very airheaded by the likes of King. In addition, Queen is very comical, and his overly animated facial expressions make him look quite immature at times.
8 Franky, The Shipwright Of The Straw Hat Pirates, Does Some Questionable Things
Franky joined the Straw Hat Pirates after the events of the Enies Lobby arc. Although he was a man who ran the underworld of Water Seven, he was very immature at the same time. Even now, he continues to act immature, and his dance during his introduction makes it very clear. He openly exclaims to be a pervert and, at the same time, has made some questionable upgrades to his body, such as installing lights in his nipples, and giving himself bizarre hairstyles by pressing his nose. However, these are the very aspects of his character that fans love.
7 Usopp Is The Biggest Liar In The Straw Hat Pirates
Usopp is the sharpshooter of the Straw Hat Pirate crew, and he’s become an incredible pirate over the years.
Ever since he was introduced, Usopp had a habit of playing pranks and lying to people, which painted him to be immature to a certain extent. Two years later, Usopp has certainly become more mature, but just like Luffy, his childlike behavior often emerges in every arc, especially because Oda loves to use his gags to portray comedy in the story.
6 Foxy The Silver Fox Uses Immature Yet Effective Tactics In Battle
Foxy made his One Piece debut during the Long Ring Long Land arc where he engaged in a Davy Back Fight with the Straw Hat Pirates. Although he was known to be a ruthless pirate who stole from every other crew with his tricks in the Davy Back Fight, he was still very goofy. His tactics in the fights were very immature but effective at the same time. In the end, Foxy lost the battle to the Straw Hat Pirates and became even more of a gag character since then.
5 Buggy Is A Clown Involved In Many Gags
Buggy is a former member of the Roger Pirates and the current leader of Buggy’s Delivery. Since his very first appearance, Buggy has been painted as immature, and he’s certainly lived up to his epithet of being a clown. With time, Buggy became more involved in gags than ever before, especially during the Impel Down and Marineford arcs where he led an army of strong people by acting as their messiah. Buggy remains to be very immature, but at the same time, luck always favors him, which is why he is as great as he is today.
4 Ulti Is The Most Childlike Member Of The Beasts Pirates
One of the Tobiroppo, Ulti is an incredibly powerful pirate who possesses the power of the Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Pachycephalosaurus. Evidently, Ulti is a dangerous pirate with a fearsome reputation in the One Piece world, but she’s also very immature.
She picks up hilarious manners of speaking and switches to a new personality every now and then. She’s also incredibly attached to Page One, her younger brother, yet she loves to playfully hurt him at times. Ulti is also a fearless character who doesn’t even hesitate to talk back to the likes of Kaido.
3 Big Mom Holds Onto Childish Beliefs
Big Mom is a Yonko who fans get a proper look at during the Whole Cake Island arc. Despite being a pirate whom almost everyone in the world fears, Big Mom is also very immature at times. Essentially, she’s still a child at heart because of her experiences in life and what Mother Carmel has taught her. Big Mom holds childish beliefs such as thinking prejudice can be eliminated by making everyone a giant. She even values candy more than human life or any kind of treasure. In her mind, she’s the kindest mother to ever live and she knows the best.
2 Chopper Is Considered The Child Of The Straw Hat Crew
Chopper joins the Straw Hat Pirates during the Drum Island arc and has become an extremely important part of the crew. As the Straw Hat Pirates are known to be a family, Chopper is considered to be the child of the family. He’s very gullible and believes almost all of Usopp’s lies quite easily. Chopper had very little idea of what the world was until he met the Straw Hat Pirates. He’s also overly trusting and cries often, as seen when he’s the only one on Onigashima who believes Luffy is dead and Sanji has to remind him of his captain’s greatness.
1 Shirahoshi Didn’t Have A Chance To Properly Grow Up
Shirahoshi is the daughter of King Neptune and Queen Otohime of Fishman Island and, more interestingly, the Ancient Weapon Poseidon. After witnessing the death of her mother, Shirahoshi was locked in a tower in Ryugu Palace to be protected from Vander Decken. As a result, she never truly grew up. Despite being 16, Shirahoshi acts like a 6-year-old child and has the purity of one as well. She’s known to be a crybaby but remains to be one of the most loved characters in One Piece.
