My Hero Academia is set in the future, where everyone is born with supernatural Quirks of all sorts. Certain individuals with strong Quirks and stronger resolve can enroll at heroic schools such as U.A. or Shiketsu to become pro heroes, and the standards are high. Only the best can become full-fledged pros like All Might and Endeavor.
Some U.A. and Shiketsu students are on the fast track to becoming pros, but they could aim even higher. These students can try interning among the Avengers of MCU fame, but the Avengers will only accept the very best, and a trainee Avenger must be ready to face mortal danger and make hard decisions on the battlefield. They must also be a team player. Which MHA students have what it takes?
10 GOOD AVENGER: Izuku Midoriya Is Strong, Smart, & Determined To Succeed
Many shonen protagonists would make good members of the Avengers, since they are powerful, incredibly driven, and usually upstanding citizens, and that includes Izuku Midoriya himself. Since he was born Quirkless, Izuku has had a balanced and smart perspective on Quirks, especially One For All.
Izuku is a smart and responsible hero who takes nothing for granted, and he is also a great team player and a fine tactician on top of that. He could definitely join the Avengers as a junior member, and Captain America could mentor him and show him the ropes.
9 BAD AVENGER: Yuga Aoyama Is Too Fragile
Yuga Aoyama has some promise as a trainee hero, but this boy has a long way to go, and he is far from ready to join the Avengers, even as an intern. He has sworn to fight for the innocent as a pro, but that alone isn’t enough. He needs grit and power, and he’s lacking in that department.
Yuga’s Navel Laser Quirk can deal damage from afar, but it’s nothing special by Avenger standards, and Yuga is easily overwhelmed by enemy fire. He also has unremarkable tactical skills and few other talents aside from his Quirk and his costume-designing skills.
8 GOOD AVENGER: Fumikage Tokoyami Has Heroic Spirit & Strength
Although Fumikage Tokoyami may not be terribly outgoing or cheerful, as opposed to Momo and Ochaco, he still has the heart of a hero where it counts. Not only is he determined to go pro, but he is also highly cooperative, humble, and unafraid to acknowledge his weaknesses.
That’s a good start, and Fumikage can back up his confidence with incredible Quirk-based firepower. With his Dark Shadow Quirk, Fumikage is formidable both on offense and defense, and he can use Dark Shadow to fly. And he’s still looking for ways to improve.
7 BAD AVENGER: Neito Monoma’s Quirk Is Irrelevant
Neito Monoma’s Copy Quirk is fairly useful in his own universe since practically everyone has a Quirk that he can borrow in battle. Neito can juggle up to three copied Quirks at once, though he doesn’t get many benefits from copying One For All, since he can’t charge up the necessary energy.
Neito is also a decent tactician and will cooperate if he trusts his teammates, which is good. However, his Copy ability is worthless among the Avengers, since those characters don’t have Quirks, and neither do their enemies. Among the Avengers, Neito is just an ordinary kid.
6 GOOD AVENGER: Nejire Hado Has Flight & Firepower On Her Side
Nejire Hado ranks among U.A.’s “big three” students, and it’s easy to see why. She may act goofy and carefree in everyday life, but once the fighting starts, Nejire is totally focused on the mission at hand, and she has incredible Quirk-based firepower to offer to any heroic team, including the Avengers.
As a high schooler, Nejire still has a bit of room for growth, but her abilities are highly advanced for her age, and she has real battlefield experience to back it all up. She can use her Quirk to fly around and deliver powerful ranged attacks, making her a bit like Iron Man. Phil Coulson and Nick Fury could definitely find a use for her.
5 BAD AVENGER: Mezo Shoji’s Senses Aren’t Needed
Some students are more comfortable in a support role than an offensive role, and that includes Mezo Shoji, a U.A. student with six arm and the ability to grow extra ears, eyes, and mouths to get ready on the battlefield. He can track enemies from afar, or spot disaster victims in need of rescue.
These are helpful abilities for pro heroes, but the Avengers don’t usually perform rescue missions, and they already have Tony Stark’s many advanced gadgets and other methods to find their enemies and monitor the battlefield. Mezo is talented, but he can’t replace what the Avengers already have.
4 GOOD AVENGER: Mirio Togata Has Intuition, Strength & More
The strongest of U.A.’s “big three” is Mirio Togata, a cheerful and optimistic boy who has many assets on his side as a budding hero. For one thing, he has extensive battlefield experience and intuition, which helps him evade enemy attacks and exploit openings in the enemy’s strategy.
Mirio also boasts incredible strength and endurance as a melee hero, and this is backed up with his Permeation Quirk, which works well both on offense and defense. He may not be Hulk-caliber, but the Avengers would still want Mirio on the team as a junior member.
3 BAD AVENGER: Hitoshi Shinso Is Too Vulnerable
Hitoshi Shinso has come a long way, and he is ready to become a real pro with Shota Aizawa sponsoring him. Shinso gained some much-needed battlefield experience during the joint training exercise, and he fooled Class 1-B’s students with his voice-changing face mask.
Shinso’s Quirk can control people who verbally respond to his voice, but he is still practicing with that Quirk, and the Avengers fight powerful enemies who won’t give him a chance to practice. Not even Crossbones or Red Skull, who are rather chatty, would fall for his tricks.
2 GOOD AVENGER: Inasa Yoarashi Is Talented & Enthusiastic
Inasa Yoarashi attends the Shiketsu hero school as a first-year, and he can easily rival Class 1-A in sheer firepower, even his actual rival, Shoto Todoroki. Inasa’s Whirlwind Quirk can generate powerful gales of air, and he can control dozens or even hundreds of air currents all at once.
That’s impressive, and Inasa has figured out all kinds of ways to use this Quirk on offense and defense, including boosting his own mobility. Personality-wise, he can be a bit much at times, but overall, he would make a fine addition to the Avengers as a junior member.
1 BAD AVENGER: Momo Yaoyorozu’s Talents Are Formidable But Redundant
Momo Yaoyorozu ranks among the smartest students in My Hero Academia, and she is popular for not only her brilliant tactics but also her remarkable Creation Quirk and her fierce passion for becoming a hero. Momo is also cooperative and friendly as a support hero.
These are admirable traits that the Avengers would admire, but they ultimately don’t need her. The Avengers already have all the high-tech tools they need for battle, and they have Captain America and Tony Stark’s brainpower on their side. Momo is best off fighting in her own universe.
