While he plays things close to the vest, Wayne is kind of a ladies’ man. Over Letterkenny‘s nine seasons, Wayne has had relationships with Tanis, Marie-Fred, Rosie and Angie. But Season 9’s finale left things in an extremely awkward situation for Wayne as he had a choice to make between two women, as well as a dark horse named Bonnie McMurray waiting in the wings.
When the series started, Wayne had recently been dumped by his long-time girlfriend, Angie. She cheated on him, and it was something Wayne simply could not get past. But Wayne’s loss was the women of Letterkenny’s game. Most ladies in town considered Wayne a top prospect, particularly Gail, who had never been particularly subtle when it came to hitting on him.
The end of that relationship sent Wayne on a journey that led him in a variety of romantic directions. In Season 2, Episode 3, Wayne actually tried online dating, but that only led him back to Angie and to a lot of time with Glen. One of his most short-lived relationships was with Tanis, the tough-as-nails leader of the group referred to as the Natives in Letterkenny.
While there was definitely chemistry between them, they agreed they didn’t belong in a romantic relationship and remained friends. From there, Wayne found himself in a much more serious relationship with Gail’s cousin Rosie. They were an incredible match, without question, but it all ended when she moved away. And that’s when a fishing trip to Québec led to Wayne meeting and eventually getting engaged to Marie-Fred.
However, that all fell apart in Season 7, Episode 6, when Wayne caught Marie-Fred cheating on him. This sent Wayne into a spiral that only a returning Rosie could pull him out of. And as of the end of Season 9, Wayne and Rosie were still together. The problem was that Marie-Fred was also back, trying to reignite her relationship with Wayne and rebuild what she threw away.
Season 9, Episode 7, saw Wayne leave Rosie in MoD3an’s to talk to Marie-Fred in the parking lot. When Season 10 debuts, fans are hoping that he’s still with Rosie. She has been the best match for him throughout the series and has always treated him with nothing but respect. The problem is that there’s another player in this game, one who has been on the sidelines for too long.
Bonnie McMurray has been after Wayne since debuting in Season 1, Episode 5. While her gaze sometimes turns to Daryl, her main focus remains on Wayne. And if she senses even the remotest chance that he’s on the market, she will definitely make her move. Wayne’s major issue over the years has been the age difference between them. But everyone knows the reason he won’t date Bonnie is that she’s McMurray’s sister — and no one wants to deal with that.
Whether Wayne ends up with Rosie, Marie-Fred or Bonnie McMurray remains to be seen. But the smart money has to be on Rosie at this point for two reasons. First and foremost, Rosie is the best of the best. But another reason that has to be kept in mind is Gail because if Wayne dumps Rosie for Marie-Fred, she will utterly demolish Wayne.
