Venom: Let There Be Carnage star Tom Hardy asked fans who see the movie early to hold back from sharing spoilers online.
The actor shared a graphic on his official Instagram, depicting Venom holding a finger up to his mouth. The message “No Spoilers” is written beneath the character, while the word “No” is also written out behind the character’s head multiple times.
While details about the plot of There Will Be Carnage have been kept under wraps, it was previously confirmed that the film will find Eddie Brock/Venom (Hardy) facing off with Woody Harrelson’s Cletus Kasady/Carnage. Harrelson recently opened up about his decision to join the film as the voice of the symbiote.
“It’s wild, because in a way, you’re playing two characters in one,” the actor said at the time. “So there was a lot of discussion about the voice and also discussions with Tom [Hardy], but obviously with Andy [Serkis], who directed it. And I just kept messing with the voice, and I was thinking to myself, ‘Who’s going to know the difference, if Andy Serkis did the voice, who’s a master of voices? Why don’t you do it, Andy?’ And no, he was insistent that I do it, but I really…I like how it turned. Obviously, effects are put on the voice, but I really like how it all turned out.”
The latest clip released by Sony also revealed that the villain Shriek will also appear in the film. Posted on YouTube, the scene showed incarcerated Shriek (Naomie Harris) sitting in what appears to be a soundproof cell as a group of orderlies bring her food. The clip also shows the great lengths the orderlies have to go to in order to protect their ears before entering the villain’s cell. The silence, however, is ultimately broken.
Directed by Andy Serkis, Venom: Let There Be Carnage arrives in theaters Oct. 1.
