Nickelodeon: The 10 Best Crossovers, Ranked | CBR

Crossovers have been a staple of television shows for decades starting with I Love Lucy’s penchant for crossing over with the likes of The Adventures of Superman and more. Eventually, this moved over to cartoons and became a mainstay for many programs. Nickelodeon has been including crossovers into its regular programming since the ‘90s, though many of them were not official.

Though most shows feature actors from other series, a crossover only counts if the characters themselves traverse the television universes. It is important to note that video games like the upcoming Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl don’t count as official crossovers either.

While telenovelas hadn’t been a part of Nickelodeon’s prime time slots before, Every Witch Way changed that by airing a story about teenage witches at magic school. Talia In The Kitchen also has a magic user in the form of Talia, a Spicemaster that uses spices as castings.

While the Witch teens try to cure their friend’s amnesia-like condition, Talia cooks them up a truth stew on accident, causing drama between everyone. Unlike the rest of the crossovers on this list, these two episodes are actually important to the plot of both shows.

Puppy, and Bunsen Is A Beast. As a fun moment for fans, Nickelodeon made a short video that combined all of these properties into one universe.

Danny, Sam, Tucker, and Jazz meet Dudley and Kitty who showed up at the Phantom house on accident, opening the Ghost Portal to Timmy, Cosmo, and Wanda, then Bunsen. Notably, Cosmo and Wanda get sucked up into a ghost thermos. It is a short, sweet, homage to the shows created by Hartman.

The treasure they are hunting for comes along with a crossover guest in the form of Tom Kenny’s Patchy the Pirate from Spongebob Squarepants. This marks the only crossover the Spongebob Squarepants crew has ever done on television.

Released in theaters in 2003, Rugrats Go Wild saw the crossover event of Rugrats, a show about babies going on adventures, and The Wild Thornberrys, a show about an animal documentarian and family including Eliza, who can talk to animals. Above all, this movie was a cultural touchstone of the 2000s and included many viewer’s first, and last, Smell-O-Vision experience.

The story follows multiple stories with the babies and a concussed Nigel, Eliza and Spike, and the parents of the babies reenacting bits from Gilligan’s Island. Somehow, this isn’t the Rugrats movie that features Tommy attempting to sacrifice Dill to monkeys.
