Overcooked: All You Can Eat!

A compilation of 2017’s Overcooked and 2018’s Overcooked 2, Overcooked: All You Can Eat was developed by Ghost Town Games and originally released as a launch title for the Xbox Series S/X and PlayStation 5 in 2020. The series, which features a strong multiplayer component, sees players taking on the role of chefs in a kitchen working to fulfill orders as quickly as possible. Each level presents its own unique set of challenges. PS Plus subscribers are only eligible to get the PlayStation 5 version of Overcooked: All You Can Eat.

The PlayStation 5 version of Overcooked: All You Can Eat holds an 84 on Metacritic. Reviewers praised the game’s cooperative elements and mechanics, though critiqued the title for not bringing anything particularly new to the table in this edition.

Hitman 2

Released in 2018, Hitman 2 was developed by IO Interactive and is the second game in the “World of Assassination” trilogy, which came to an end earlier this year with Hitman 3. The game sees players taking on the role of Agent 47, an assassin working for the International Contract Agency. Over the course of Hitman 2, Agent 47 goes to various unique sandbox-style locales and tries to assassinate targets using whatever means the player deems best.

The PlayStation 4 version of Hitman 2 has an 82 on Metacritic. While most praised Hitman 2‘s gameplay and mechanics, the title was considered by some to be a disappointing follow-up to Hitman, with critique especially focusing on the weak story.

Predator: Hunting Grounds

Developed by IllFonic, Predator: Hunting Grounds is an asymmetrical multiplayer game that released in 2020. Based on the movie franchise of the same name, Predator: Hunting Grounds pits a squad of elite soldiers against the titular alien. The exact objective of any given game depends on the map and several other factors.

The PlayStation 4 version of Predator: Hunting Grounds has a 56 on Metacritic. While a number of critics did note that the game can be quite fun, others observed that Predator: Hunting Grounds lacked polish and suffered from a number of technical issues.

How Did PS Plus Subscribers Make Out in September?

September isn’t a particularly bad month for PS Plus subscribers. There’s a lot to love about this month’s line-up, as it’s fairly diverse in terms of genre. That being said, all of the games are a bit older at this point, and it’s entirely possible a lot of subscribers may already have picked up these titles in the past, as they’ve all gone on sale at some point. Still, all three games have the potential to be a lot of fun, even if just for a weekend.

Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville, Tennis World Tour 2 and Hunter’s Arena: Legends will be available until Sept. 6. Overcooked: All You Can Eat!, Hitman 2 and Predator: Hunting Grounds will be available from Sept. 7 until Oct. 4.
