Adapted from Kazuya Minekura’s manga series, Saiyuki is a retelling of classic Chinese novel Journey to the West. The series follows monk Genjyo Sanzo, monkey king Son Goku, half-demon Sha Gojyo, and former human Cho Hakkai, who embark on a quest to India to stop the resurrection of Ox-Demon-King Gyumaoh.
Saiyuki Reload -ZEROIN- is the franchise’s fifth TV anime season. Other adaptations in its near 25-year history include OVAs, theatrical movies, musicals and more.
Saiyuki Reload -ZEROIN- airs in January 2022.
