Mirio Togata, otherwise known as Lemillion, the savior of one million, is the nigh-untouchable upperclassman in My Hero Academia’s U.A. High School. Before losing his powers to save Eri from Overhaul, Lemillion was one of the most promising students to come out of U.A., and he served as both friend and mentor to main protagonist Deku.
His Quirk, Permeation, allowed him to pass through objects by becoming intangible, a skill that offers both defensive and offensive advantages. While this ability seems overpowered, there are a few anime heroes and villains that could hold their own — or even win — against Lemillion at the height of his power.
10 Obito Uchiha’s Teleportation Powers Renders Him Intangible, Like Lemillion (Naruto)
Obito’s Kamui is part of what makes him such a formidable opponent. The Kamui allows for the manipulation of space-time, and by using it, Obito can send things into another dimension. This extends to pieces of himself, which creates the effect of intangibility and gives him the ability to pass through objects, not unlike Mirio himself.
It would be interesting to see how these two approaches would clash in a fight, though Obito seems to have the upper hand if only for his ability to send Mirio into an alternate dimension entirely.
9 Kakashi’s Kamui Could Hinder Lemillion’s Intangibility Strategy (Naruto)
Likewise, Kakashi Hatake, who also has the Kamui ability, would prove an interesting match for Lemillion. In addition to the Kamui, Kakashi has powerful jutsu like his famous Chidori, though it would be expected that Mirio would phase through it.
But Kakashi would shine against Lemillion in his usage of genjutsu via the Mangekyo Sharingan, which would lock Mirio in a painful hallucination. Even with his ironclad resolve, Mirio would have a hard time against the effects of the Mangekyo Sharingan, as he couldn’t phase through such mind-bending illusions.
8 Edward Elric’s Alchemy Would Be A Force To Reckon With (Fullmetal Alchemist)
Prodigy alchemist Edward Elric of Fullmetal Alchemist would prove an interesting match for Lemillion. First, while many of Edward’s weapon-based attacks would likely be futile, he can use destruction alchemy which works on the molecular level.
While it is possible Mirio’s intangibility can withstand this approach, Edward can also transmute objects and even people, as long as he has a Philosopher’s Stone. While Mirio can avoid Edward’s physical attacks, it would be a question of mechanics as to whether he would be able to go toe-to-toe with Edward Elric.
7 If Saitama Can Land One Punch, It Would Be Over (One-Punch Man)
Saitama of One-Punch Man is is famous for his comical and cartoonish expressions — or lack thereof — and his undefeated status. All it takes is one hit and Saitama will stand the victor. However, how would Saitama fare when paired against a combatant who cannot be touched?
Since his attacks are physical, it would be difficult for Saitama to land his one punch against Mirio. Still, Lemillion would have a lot of work before he could knock Saitama down, and this fight could easily end in a stalemate.
6 Josuke’s Stand Could Reassemble Lemillion If Touched (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure)
Similar to Edward Elric, who can rearrange molecules, Josuke Higashikata’s Stand Crazy Diamond could warp Mirio so badly that he’d become unrecognizable. The downside is this ability relies on touch. Crazy Diamond has superior strength and punching power, but this is near useless against Lemillion and his Quirk.
Instead, as with Saitama, the fight would come down to Josuke figuring out a way to land just one hit. Since Permeation is a Quirk that requires focus to execute, there’s a chance a physical ability could land at least one hit if done at the right time.
5 Jotaro’s Star Platinum May Be Too Fast For Lemillion To Permeate (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure)
If there’s one Stand and Stand User duo who could measure up to Lemillion’s Permeation Quirk, it’s Star Platinum and Jotaro Kujo. Jotaro has proven time and time again that tricky abilities and superior firepower are no match for wit and cunning, and Star Platinum has proven itself through its speed and strength. Since Star Platinum moves at the speed of light, it’s questionable that Mirio could even keep up. If he could, he would still have to deal with Jotaro’s genius strategies.
4 Itachi’s Genjutsu Could Crumple Even The Strongest Will (Naruto)
Like Kakashi, Itachi Uchiha also possesses the imposing Mangekyo Sharingan and its powerful genjutsu. When Itachi flavors his genjutsu into the sadistic Tsukuyomi, enemies beware! Additionally, Itachi’s Amaterasu can be cast simply by gazing upon the victim, and once it’s taken hold, there’s no putting out the flames.
Luckily for Mirio, his speed can prevent him from getting burned, and his intangibility would help mitigate some of the dangers of fighting with his eyes closed to avoid the Tsukuyomi. Still, defeating Itachi and merely avoiding Itachi’s attacks are two different stories.
3 Jujutsu Kaisen’s Prodigy, Gojo, Would Be Hard To Beat Head On
Gojo Satoru is the definition of overpowered. In fact, Gojo’s rival suggests he could wipe out the whole world if he wanted to. Gojo’s Domain Expansion, Unlimited Void, could inundate Lemillion with so much information he would be unable to permeate.
While Lemillion can avoid physical attacks and even magical attacks like beams of energy, it’s difficult to imagine he would stand a chance against a move like Unlimited Void. However, if he could escape the Domain Expansion, there’s still the question of Gojo’s time-slowing Infinity technique.
2 Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses, Would Prove A Tour De Force For Lemillion (Jujutsu Kaisen)
Lemillion might fare a bit better against Sukuna, whose Dismantle and Cleave attacks are more physical in nature, though they do not necessarily require touch. It’s also possible for Mirio to be able to permeate out of Sukuna’s Domain Expansion, as long as he could clear its immense distance.
However, the chances of Mirio landing a direct hit on Sukuna are slim to none, and tiring Sukuna out is off the table. In the end, Mirio may last longer than others in a fight against the King of Curses, but a victory seems less certain.
1 Lemillion Would Have Trouble Against Psychic Attacks Like Mob’s (Mob Psycho 100)
Shigeo “Mob” Kageyama doesn’t rely on physical techniques as many shonen protagonists do. While it’s uncertain whether his psychic energy absorption would work on characters like Mirio, being that Mirio is not an esper, and Mob’s telekinesis powers wouldn’t match well against a character who can permeate any objects thrown at him, Mirio would still have to watch out for Mob’s astral projection. Using astral projection, Mob can enter the minds of his opponents. Still, Mirio’s sheer willpower helps him overcome the trickiest of situations.
