Marvel: 10 Villains Who Should Have Their Own Video Game | CBR

Video games based on the adventures of superheroes have become increasingly popular over the last decade or so. Games like Marvel’s Spider-Man do an excellent job of portraying what superheroes’ lives are like on a day-to-day basis. One of the most important parts of these games is the supervillains, the evildoers who make it their mission to cause chaos and destruction in the lives of others.

While it’s always extremely satisfying to take these criminals down as the hero, there are many fans who would like to know what it’d be like to have control over the other side of the story. Playing a video game whose protagonist is a notorious supervillain of the Marvel Universe would not only be tremendously fun, but it would have so much potential for original and creative storytelling, especially with the company’s iconic lineup of villains.

10 Taskmaster’s Skills Would Be Fun To Use

Anthony Masters has the ability to copy any person’s movements if he observes them for only a short period of time. He was also injected with a version of the Super-Soldier Serum, making him even more formidable. He has used his talents to fight against several heroes, such as Spider-Man and Black Widow. Fights against these two, along with many others, would make for great video game sequences. Players could select different fighting styles to employ, even those of other famous Marvel characters.

9 A Doctor Doom Game Would Be Very Interesting

There are so many reasons why a video game centered around Doctor Doom would be amazing. Firstly, as the ruler of Latveria, players could make decisions on policies for the small nation, and even defend Doom’s throne against any usurpers. With Doom also being a supervillain, there could be many great conflicts fighting against the Fantastic Four or the Avengers. These fights could implement any number of Doom’s skills, whether they be magical, technological, or cosmic in nature. The possibilities in a game like this would be near-limitless.

8 A Carnage Game Would Be Similar To A Spider-Man Game

Cletus Kasady is one of the most notorious supervillains throughout all of Marvel’s history. He is well-known for spreading violence and chaos wherever he goes. Most of his horrific acts over the years have taken place in New York City while he’s been in conflict with Spider-Man.

Given how good of a game Marvel’s Spider-Man is, it’s not too hard to imagine another installment, where instead of playing as the famous web-slinger, fans get to take control of the Carnage symbiote instead. Swinging around NYC as the crazed villain, while wreaking havoc and confronting the city’s many superheroes would be a blast.

7 The Universe Would Be At Thanos’ Fingertips

Thanos in Avengers: Endgame

A video game featuring Thanos, The Mad Titan, as the protagonist would be the stuff of comic-based video game legend. The possibilities would be endless. Thanos is someone who travels the universe, always in search of new worlds to conquer. Playing as him in these planetary invasions would be very entertaining. On top of that, players could hunt for the Infinity Stones and master their abilities once they’ve been acquired. Players could also command Thanos’ many lieutenants, such as Corvus Glaive and Supergiant.

6 A Gorgon Game Would Follow His Journey Of Excellence

The Gorgon, whose real name is Tomi Shishido, has always been a prodigy. From a very young age, he showed that he was capable of accomplishing great feats, both mentally and physically. Unfortunately, he began to use his gifts to achieve his own selfish goals, which has led him to come into conflict with heroes, such as Wolverine and Nick Fury. A video game campaign following the life of The Gorgon would be a great opportunity for some excellent storytelling. There would also be ample room for some interesting gameplay mechanics, given how good of a swordsman he is and his mutant ability to turn people into stone.

5 Controlling Juggernaut Would Be Exciting

With the blessings of the powerful being Cyttorak, Cain Marko is literally an unstoppable wrecking ball. Once he starts moving, he can’t be stopped. He also has super strength, speed, and durability, making him even more of a threat.

A game that lets you step into the giant shoes of Juggernaut would be a tremendous amount of fun to play. It would be interesting to see players be able to take on contracts given by other Marvel villains, and of course, it would be extremely fun to be able to fight The Hulk and other heroes.

4 Chameleon Has The Perfect Skills For A Stealth Game

Dmitri Smerdyakov is the master of disguise in the Marvel Universe. He is extremely adept at impersonating people and their every behavior. He is also extremely good at making masks of people, and he uses special clothing to be able to physically impersonate their bodies as well. A stealth game that focused on Chameleon’s skills and the player’s ability to sneak around, complete tasks, and deceive heroes would be quite fun. It would be even more fun to impersonate other villains or even heroes as well.

3 Nimrod Would Be The Ultimate RPG Character

Gamers love and appreciate having the ability to heavily customize their characters. RPGs, or role-playing games, generally provide this service for fans, allowing them to play the game exactly how they want to play it. Having the mutant-hunting robot known as Nimrod serve as the main character of an RPG would be an amazing idea on any game developer’s part. Nimrod is always adapting and becoming more intelligent, which would allow for a very in-depth skill and upgrade gameplay system. Players’ arsenals would be constantly changing, as they learn alongside their robotic counterparts in the game.

2 Players Could Pull Off Heists With Black Cat

Another Marvel villain that would star perfectly in their own stealth-focused video game would be Black Cat. Felicia Hardy has always been a master thief. She has pulled off some seriously impressive heists in her time as Black Cat, all while avoiding legal punishment as well. Not only that, but she has evaded capture by superheroes, such as Spider-Man. Felicia’s expertise would be perfectly displayed in video game format, and there is also good story material to work with while having Spider-Man as the antagonist.

1 A Dark Souls-esque Game Starring Gorr Would Be Amazing

The main aspect of Gorr The God Butcher’s personality is, not surprisingly, that he hates gods. This is what drives his every action, most of which are related to hunting down and killing the many gods of the Marvel Universe. Therefore, it seems as though he would be the perfect character to star in a Dark Souls-style game, where all the boss fights are against different Marvel gods. Playing as Gorr wielding All-Black the Necrosword while in combat with Zeus or Thor would be intensely entertaining.
