Destination known.

Professional wrestler Ruby Soho — formerly known as Ruby Riott, real name Dori Prange — is reportedly set to make her way to All Elite Wrestling (AEW) following her release from WWE earlier this year.

According to Fightful Select (via Patreon), talent and industry insiders alike say AEW’s current plans call for Soho to join its women’s roster. Notably, Soho was released from her WWE contract on June 2, meaning her 90-day non-compete clause should expire on or around Aug. 31 — just in time for AEW’s All Out pay-per-view on Sept. 5.

That being said, Fightful has yet to officially confirm the news with AEW. Furthermore, there is currently no word on what creative plans AEW might have in store for the former Ruby Riott. Nevertheless, the outlet explains that the talent it has spoken to have all given “unanimously glowing reviews of Soho’s work, attitude and backstage demeanor.”

Prange made her wrestling debut in 2010, working the independent circuit under the name Heidi Lovelace. She signed a developmental contract with WWE in late 2016 and subsequently joined the promotion’s NXT brand, making her television debut in early 2017 as Ruby Riot. She was called up from NXT later that same year and made her WWE main roster debut on SmackDown, with the spelling of her name being changed to Ruby Riott.

Since being let go by WWE back in early June of this year, Prange has kept a low profile, making no public appearances, scarcely posting on social media and doing very few interviews. Fightful also explains that a promoter actually reached out as far back as last month, only to be told that she wasn’t taking any bookings at the time.

However, back in late June — roughly three weeks after her WWE release — Prange did appear on the Wrestling Perspective Podcast, which is co-hosted by Lars Frederiksen of the punk rock band Rancid. During the interview, the wrestler — who can no longer legally go by Ruby Riott, as WWE owns that name — explained that she had no plans to return to her Heidi Lovelace moniker.

Rather, she said she would like to keep “Ruby” in her name, as it was inspired by the popular Rancid song “Ruby Soho.” This prompted Frederiksen to suggest that she actually use Ruby Soho as her ring name going forward, with the musician even offering to get her the rights to use the song as her new entrance theme. Shortly thereafter, the former Ruby Riott changed her name to Ruby Soho on social media.
