My Hero Academia: 10 Characters Deku Never Interacts With | CBR

My Hero Academia‘s shonen star is Izuku Midoriya, and naturally, he’s going to befriend or fight most characters in the series at one point or another. Already, he has made friends with many of his classmates in U.A.’s Class 1-A, from his childhood friend Katsuki Bakugo to his dear new friend, Ochaco Uraraka. But he hasn’t met everyone yet.

As of this point in the My Hero Academia anime, Izuku has met Pro Heroes, powerful Villains, and even students from other schools, such as Shiketsu and Ketsubutsu. Still, there are some friends and foes Izuku has not yet spoken to or fought in a battle, or has rarely spoken to even though they’re in his class, and at this rate, he might never have a big moment with any of them.

10 Mashirao Ojiro Clearly Isn’t On Izuku’s Radar

Mashirao Ojiro is a melee-oriented student, like Izuku and Rikido Sato, and his powerful tail allows him to swing around like a monkey or strike his enemies with five limbs instead of four. So far, though, Mashirao hasn’t had a glorious moment in the show, nor has he said anything really memorable.

There’s little doubt that Izuku has a positive impression of Mashirao, but the two boys never fight together or talk much, and at this rate, they probably never will. Their only memorable interaction was when Mashirao warned Izuku about Shinso at the Sports Festival, which Izuku didn’t listen to. Izuku is more involved with friends such as Bakugo and even Shoto Todoroki.

9 Izuku Doesn’t Say Much To Vlad King

Vlad King Meeting With Eraserhead

Vlad King is the homeroom teacher of Class 1-B, and he shares that class’s rivalry with the prestigious Class 1-A. By now, Izuku is one of Class 1-A’s top students, so it’s likely that Vlad King sees Izuku has an ideal sparring partner for his own students. If they can take down Izuku, then Class 1-B may prove itself the best.

So far, Vlad King hasn’t said or done anything to this effect, and he has little, if anything, to say to Izuku personally. And they certainly have no occasion to fight together against a common enemy. Vlad King has only been seen fighting alongside Shota Aizawa/Eraser Head so far.

8 Izuku Hasn’t Gotten To Know Inasa Yoarashi Yet

Inasa Yoarashi is Shoto’s rival, and the two of them clashed during the provisional hero license exam until they finally cooperated against the Pro Hero Gang Orca at the last minute. It’s a fascinating rivalry, but Shoto doesn’t seem to have Inasa on his mind very much. Neither does Izuku.

Izuku has certainly seen Inasa before, and he got a strong impression of the boy right away. As of this point, though, Izuku and Inasa haven’t even spoken two words to one another, which is a shame. They could have had a fruitful rivalry.

7 Izuku Hasn’t Yet Interned With Selkie

Selkie, the Sea Rescue hero from My Hero Academia

Selkie is an aquatic Pro Hero, and that is why the frog-girl Tsuyu Asui is often seen interning with him to rack up combat experience in the field. Later on, Ochaco and the mighty Nejire Hado started interning with Selkie too, but Izuku wasn’t invited to the party.

Fighting in and near water would be awkward for Izuku, who needs to jump off of dry land and hard walls to use Full Cowling. So, he never bothered to meet Selkie, and the two of them will likely never cross paths. He might hear a few things about Selkie from Ochaco and Tsuyu, though.

6 Nejire Hado Hasn’t Become Izuku’s Friend Yet

Izuku knows who the “big three” of U.A. are, and he has become a friend and ally of Mirio Togata’s. Izuku also knows Nejire and Tamaki Amajiki by reputation, and he briefly met them both when the big three visited Class 1-A’s classroom. But that’s all.

Izuku no doubt has a high opinion of Nejire, and vice versa, but they never really fight together or hang out. Instead, Nejire has become Ochaco and Tsuyu’s friend and teammate while interning with Ryukyu and Selkie.

5 Izuku Has Not Yet Crossed Paths With Dabi

Dabi the flame Villain is a prominent member of the League of Villains, and he is also friendly to the Meta Liberation Army, so it is possible that he and Izuku will meet on the field of battle someday. But that day has not yet come.

Dabi has clashed with Vlad King and Eraser Head, and he also battled the police while trying to capture Overhaul with Tomura Shigaraki. For now, Dabi and Izuku are far apart, and they know little about each other. Izuku is more concerned about Tomura Shigaraki at the moment.

4 Izuku Only Just Got A Scene With Mt. Lady

Mt Lady running through the city

Mt. Lady was one of the first Pro Heroes to ever appear, and there is no doubt that Izuku knows all about her. Among all of Class 1-A’s students, though, only the mega-pervert Minoru Mineta has interned with her, and he ended up serving as her housekeeper more than anything. He was quite disappointed.

Izuku, meanwhile, has on just met Mt. Lady in person, when she came to visit Class 1-A and do mock interviews. Izuku certainly respects her as a Pro Hero, but he has better options for internships. Mt. Lady isn’t really on his radar.

3 Izuku And Present Mic Don’t Do Much Together

The loud pro hero Present Mic plays just one minor role in Izuku’s life: being his English teacher at the U.A. school. Beyond that, Present Mic has had practically no impact on Izuku’s life or budding Hero career, and they haven’t been seen on the battlefield together, either.

Present Mic’s main on-screen fight was against the sonic student Kyoka Jiro and the Anivoice Hero Koji Koda, and on a personal level, Present Mic is usually seen interacting with his old classmate and friend, Eraser Head. He has little to say to Izuku.

2 Izuku Hasn’t Had The Pleasure Of Meeting Pony Tsunotori Yet

Pony _ My Hero Academia _ Class 1-B

Pony Tsunotori is an American student studying abroad, and she is a notable member of Class 1-B. It was she who cleverly forced a draw against Class 1-A’s team during the Joint Training arc, running the timer to zero against the six-armed Mezo Shoji.

Izuku wasn’t in that fight, though, and at this rate, he will probably never get a chance to train alongside Pony Tsunotori or any of her classmates. It’s a shame, since Pony is a friendly and clever student, like Izuku. They would make such good friends.

1 Izuku Probably Won’t Get To Know Naomasa Tsukauchi

Naomasa is a minor character in My Hero Academia at best, but he does have a slightly larger role to play in the My Hero Academia Vigilantes spinoff manga series. Naomasa is a straight-laced detective who is often seen supporting All Might himself, similar to how Sir Nighteye used to be All Might’s sidekick.

Naomasa has no real connection to U.A. outside of All Might himself, and he’s only happened to cross paths with students when things went wrong and the police got involved. Izuku and Naomasa are on the same side when fighting evil, but they probably won’t interact to any important degree anytime soon.
