It is hard to argue against Trevor Belmont’s combative prowess in Netflix’s Castlevania. As a monster hunter with a family legacy to avenge and uphold, Trevor relishes a chance to fight but prefers to keep distance between him and his enemies. That’s not to say that he isn’t accomplished at close quarters with a sword, as shown by when he keeps up with Alucard.
His use of a whip, and later his family morning star and Cross Haladie, give him an advantage against his enemies, especially if they are demonic, as he consecrates his whips to make them one-hit demon killers. It would take immense power and combat skill to get past Trevor, as he didn’t even flinch in the face of Death itself.
10 Can Beat: Trevor Could Defeat Blue Exorcist’s Rin Okumura With His Consecrated Whip
In Blue Exorcist, Rin Okumura is a Nephilim, the result of a demon breeding with a human. In this series though, he still suffers from the same weaknesses as other full-demons, with holy water being the main example. With this logic, it leaves him ripe for the picking by Castlevania‘s Trevor Belmont.
Trevor’s consecrated morning star whip could possibly destroy Rin with one hit as long as it hit him directly. Trevor would have to take care of Rin’s aggressive use of fire and explosions, but he has dodged worse than that in the past.
9 Cannot beat: Without Prior Knowledge Of His Abilities, Trevor Would Be Outwitted & Defeated By Hisoka
If this was a one-off one-on-one bout with neither opponent knowing the other one’s secret powers, skills, and strengths, Hisoka from Hunter X Hunter would fancy himself against Trevor.
Hisoka is agile enough to dodge plenty of Trevor’s ranged attacks before moving in closer, and he could conceal his Bungee Gum ability like he did against Gon at the Heavens Arena. This would allow Hisoka to dictate the fight by manipulating his Bungee Gum control over Trevor, leaving him open for a finishing blow, probably in the form of a card.
8 Can Beat: Trevor’s Monster Slaying Capabilities Could Be The End Of Most Characters In Seraph Of The End, From Guren To Mika
The fact that characters in Seraph of the End are either vampires or occasionally taken over by demons, does not bode well for any of them when compared to Trevor Belmont in a potential match-up. While the extent of the damage that Trevor’s consecrated whip could do to a demon when it’s a part of the human rather than on the outside, is rather unknown; vampires and the form that occurs when the demon takes over the human would definitely be vulnerable.
While the vampires’ speed is always a cause for concern, Trevor has had to deal with vampires before, a certain Dracula springs to mind, and that experience has hardened him to a point where it’s hard to imagine any vampire or demon being able to take him down.
7 Cannot beat: Mihawk’s Swordsmanship Would Be Too Much For Trevor
Dracule Mihawk is one of One Piece‘s most impressive and dangerous pirates, despite his somewhat bored and disinterested demeanor at times. During the Baratie arc, he seamlessly destroys 50 of Don Krieg’s ships and 5,000 of his men with little to no effort.
He has also been seen slicing anything and everything at incredible speeds, meaning that while his swordsmanship skills are perfect for close range, they are just as, if not more, effective as a long-range option, as long as he can see a route to his target. If Mihawk deemed Trevor Belmont a worthwhile opponent, he would probably humor him for a bit before slicing through Trevor’s guard.
6 Can Beat: Meliodas Being A Demon & His Full Counter Only Working Against Magic Could Be His Downfall Against Trevor Belmont
Despite Meliodas having an incredible power level in his demon form, there are several aspects that would potentially leave him vulnerable to Trevor Belmont and his monster-killing resourcefulness.
Meliodas’s main power of Full Counter only works to reflect magic attacks, not physical ones. Already, this puts him at risk of being hit by Trevor’s consecrated whip without being able to reflect the hit. Meliodas would have to rely on his speed instead but with the range that Belmont can cover with his weapons, the chances of connecting at least one strike are high.
5 Cannot Beat: All Might At His Best Would Be Too Quick & Powerful For Trevor
Trevor’s whips and blades are all well and good. At the end of the day, very little can beat My Hero Academia‘s All Might at the peak of his power, especially not someone without superhero strength, who probably wouldn’t be able to take more than one hit from All Might’s fists.
All Might’s speed, power, and precision would enable him to dodge and jump through Trevor’s range attacks and his destructive punches would probably land before the monster hunter managed to switch to his sword.
4 Can Beat: Thorfinn’s Anger & Survivability Wouldn’t Help Him Against Trevor
In Vinland Saga, Thorfinn is fueled and driven by hatred, which starts as a manifestation of a thirst for revenge, but later descends into an unhealthy obsession. As he gets older, he gets more skilled and more dangerous, but still wouldn’t have been enough to defeat Askeladd, and that would just be in a close-quarters fight with traditional weapons.
If Trevor Belmont was to face him, the long-range attacks with the whip or the cross-blade would require Thorfinn’s entire attention in order to not take a hit. Trevor using long-range attacks isn’t all he can do, as he is probably even on par with Askeladd in terms of swordsmanship.
3 Cannot Beat: Simon’s Destructive Offense Would Easily Overpower Trevor
Gurren Lagann‘s Simon is often overlooked as one of anime’s strongest characters but his sheer power and frightening capabilities are something to behold. His Giga Drill Break is devastating and Simon has the potential to obliterate anyone or anything that stands in his way.
If Trevor was to face him in a fight, the sheer power of the drilling offense would be too much for Castlevania‘s monster hunter, no matter how wild his whip attacks would get. Simon’s brute force even has the ability to tear through the structure of space-time itself, so think how much damage that could do to a mere mortal.
2 Can Beat: Nezuko Being A Demon Would Leave Her Vulnerable To Belmont
Upholding his family legacy of slaying monsters and demons, Trevor would likely be able to defeat Nezuko with his use of salt and his consecrated whip, assuming the demon-destroying logic from the two different worlds align.
Nezuko’s speed and power could overpower almost anyone, but the whip carries so much depth and coverage that it can deal with many a fast monster.
1 Cannot Beat: Saitama Would Be Able To Get Serious & Punch Trevor Into Oblivion
One of the main advantages of Trevor Belmont’s fighting prowess at a distance from his targets, is that he can cause a great deal of damage or exhaustion from dodging, before having to think about taking damage himself.
However, one punch from the One-Punch Man himself would spell the end of the monster hunter. The chances are that some of Trevor’s attacks would make contact with Saitama, but ultimately the finishing punch once the hero decides to get serious, would finish the bout.
