Matt Shakman — the director behind Marvel Studios’ debut Disney+ original series WandaVision — is slated to helm a new Star Trek feature film for Paramount Pictures and producer J.J. Abrams of Bad Robot.
According to Deadline, Shakman has made a deal to direct Paramount and Abrams’ next Star Trek movie, the script for which has been written by Lindsey Beer and Geneva Robertson. While this new Star Trek movie currently lacks an official title, Deadline explains that the film is expected to enter production next spring.
