It’s a new Rick and Jerry adventure on next week’s episode of Rick and Morty.
A promo for the episode, titled “Amortycan Grickfitti,” sees Beth ask Jerry if he can watch Morty and Summer due to a major series of horse pregnancies at her hospital. However, Jerry can’t do that because, as Rick explains, “it’s guys night,” a revelation that puzzles Beth given how little respect Rick has for Jerry. Rick then questions why Beth’s “complaining that I like your stupid husband” and tells her to accept that Friday nights are reserved for the two of them.
Rick and Jerry’s first major buddy adventure happened in Rick and Morty‘s Season 3 episode “The Whirly Dirly Conspiracy,” in which Rick takes Jerry to an intergalactic amusement park where no one can die, only for Jerry to get involved in an assassination attempt. Season 4’s “Claw and Hoarder: Special Ricktim’s Morty” also saw them try to uncover the mystery behind a talking cat, only to be left traumatized by what lies within its mind.
Despite Beth divorcing Jerry in Season 3, the two reunited at the end of Rick and Morty‘s Season 4 finale, with Season 5 teasing more of Beth and Jerry’s sexual adventures. The new season’s premiere episode, “Mort Dinner Rick Andre,” saw the couple get convinced to have a threesome with Rick’s underwater “greatest enemy” Mr. Nimbus, and — despite initial hesitation — Beth and Jerry eventually go through with it. However, the next episode, “Mortyplicity,” highlights Jerry’s cowardice yet again after a wooden version of him betrays multiple family duplicates so that he can live in peace. As comeuppance, Rick and Morty‘s post-credits scene reveals Jerry’s wooden body was later used as a beaver’s den, an ornament and eventually part of a crucifix.
New episodes of Rick and Morty air Sundays at 11 p.m. ET on Adult Swim.
