10 Most Balanced DC Villains, Ranked | CBR

The villains of DC are a tough lot; they pretty much have to be, as the heroes they fight are some of the most powerful ones in any comic universe. Even when they seem benign, they’re quite intimidating, challenging the heroes they fight in all kinds of ways. Some of these villains are amazing powerhouses with one overwhelming ability but the best of them are more multi-faceted.

10 Prometheus Is A Match For The Justice League

Prometheus made a huge splash in his first battle against the Justice League. Positioned as an anti-Batman, Prometheus did things the same way the Caped Crusader would have, identifying weaknesses and exploiting them. If it wasn’t for the surprise of Catwoman being there, Prometheus would have destroyed the League.

He was able to accomplish all of this because of the sheer variety of skills he brought to the table. Smart, strong, and skilled, he was able to give the League a run for its money whenever he showed up.

9 Bane Is More Than A Mountain Of Muscle

Bane is built like a brick house and while his strength and the Venom that enhances it are some of his biggest advantages, it’s not the only thing that has made him one of Batman’s greatest foes. Bane is actually an extremely balanced opponent, with great speed, fighting skill, and strategizing ability. The muscle certainly helps, but it’s almost the least of his abilities.

One doesn’t get such great victories against Batman like Bane has with brute strength alone. Bane wins because he plans well, striking Batman in ways he’s not expecting and using all of his skills in concert to overwhelm the Dark Knight and whoever else he fights against.

Vandal Savage pretty much has it all. The meteor that enhanced him made him one of the Earth’s first superhumans and he has over a hundred thousand years of experience and squirreled away resources to bring to bear against his foes. Few villains can match Savage’s blend of skills.

6 Deathstroke Can Do It All

Deathstroke is one of the greatest mercenaries in comics and a big reason for that is because of how multi-faceted he is. His Green Beret training is just the start of it, as the super-soldier experiments carried out on him only made him more formidable, pumping his physical attributes up to superhuman levels and enhancing his brain to an obscene extent.

He’s an expert with a variety of weapons and his experience both as a mercenary and battling against the greatest heroes of the DC Universe makes this threat a hard one to defeat. Deathstroke is one of the most dangerous humans on the planet.

Batman is easily one of the most successful heroes on the planet because of his balance of skills, intelligence, and resources. Many villains have been positioned as an evil Batman but one of them was literally one- the Batman Who Laughs. A Batman from the Dark Multiverse dosed with Joker toxin, he combined the insanity and brutality of the Joker with the inventiveness and skill of Batman.

This multi-faceted threat made a huge splash, outsmarting and defeating every opponent in his way, becoming more and more powerful as time went by. By the end, he was a Multiverse shaking menace and it took everything the heroes had to beat him.

Brainiac is one of the most intelligent beings around with a 12th level intellect and his massive ship is filled with unique technology he’s pilfered, powerful drones, and weapon systems that can destroy entire star systems.

As if that wasn’t enough, Brainiac himself has a variety of skills and abilities and is strong enough to fight it out with Superman. Brainiac is the total package- an intelligent, powerful foe with an army of drones and powerful technology to overwhelm his enemies.
