Archer premiered in 2009, putting a twist on the typical workplace sitcom by focusing on an eccentric group of colleagues within a spy organization. Among the titular character’s misadventures, he deals with the expected workplace drama, with much of it instigated by his controlling boss/mother. While poking fun at big spy film tropes and characters like James Bond, Archer‘s been a fan-favorite animated series for 11 seasons.
Now entering Season 12, here’s what we know so far about Archer, including the series’ plot, trailer and release date information.
What Is Archer Season 12’s Plot?
Archer follows Sterling Archer (H. Jon Benjamin), the world’s former greatest spy, as he navigates the spy world, his personal life and his domineering boss/mother, Malory Archer (Jessica Walter). Season 12 will pick up after Archer emerged from his three-season coma and returned to the workplace.
In March 2021, Jessica Walter, the voice of Malory Archer, passed away. However, voice recordings were already wrapped, allowing Walter’s Malory to appear in Season 12. It’s also likely Archer will pay tribute and give a proper goodbye to the beloved actor, although it’s currently unknown what plans are for Malory Archer going forward.
