Ash Returns to Dynamite in Army of Darkness: 1979 | CBR

The time-traveling, monster-fighting Ash Williams will find himself in the groovy 1970s in Army of Darkness: 1979.

“I relished the opportunity to take on Army of Darkness. The tone is different from everything I’ve done to date, so there’s that challenge,” said writer Rodney Barnes. “I loved the film and the graphic novels based on the film, so it’s an honor to add my name to the great folks that have done the books prior to this one.”

Army of Darkness: 1979 will place Ash in the crime-ridden South Bronx, as he fends off vampires and zombies — or, rather, gangs that play the part. More mayhem ensues when the gangs get control of the Necronomicon.
