Titans executive story editor Prathi Srinivasan teased that Season 3 of the DC series will feature some major surprises.
“Y’all may know me from [Plan B] but I also wrote for [Season 3] of [Titans] and I can guarantee, y’all will NEVER be able to predict these twists and turns,” Srinivasan wrote on Twitter. “The new season is gonna fuck you uppp.”
Srinivasan shared what viewers can expect from the latest season while answering fan-submitted questions. During the same Q&A, the writer also described Jason Todd’s transformation into Red Hood in Season 3 as “frightening.”
Fans will recall that Season 2 of Titans saw Jason being sent away by Batman and held hostage by Deathstroke. The character also learned that he’d been lied to by Rose Wilson for the majority of their relationship, which caused him to experience PTSD and to consider attempting suicide. A recent trailer for Season 3 of Titans also hints that, like in the comics, the catalyst for Jason’s transformation will be a brutal beating at the hands of the Joker.
In addition to focusing on Jason’s transformation into Red Hood, Season 3 will also introduce Barbara Gordon, Tim Drake and Scarecrow, as well as properly introduce Blackfire, who made a cameo in Season 2’s finale.
The official synopsis for Titans reads,
TITANS follows young heroes from across the DC Universe as they come of age and find where they belong. In season three, circumstances draw our heroes to Gotham City, where they will reunite with old friends and face new threats.
