Netflix‘s upcoming Italian horror film A Classic Horror Story has just gotten a new trailer, though some viewers might feel like they’ve seen this all before.
The trailer introduces a group of travelers who find themselves lost in a deep forest with no roads around to follow. The clip then flashes every horror movie trope imaginable from mysterious houses to eerie skulls and shrines. The trailer itself admits, “You feel like you’ve already seen it,” but warns, “Try and take a closer look.”

There are various homages to notable horror films from Texas Chainsaw Massacre to the Saw franchise. One of the characters even states outright that their situation is a classic horror movie. Upon releasing the teaser back in May, Netflix introduced the film on Twitter to audiences as a mix between 2019’s Midsommar and Texas Chainsaw.
Directed by Roberto De Feo and Paolo Strippoli, A Classic Horror Story stars Matilda Lutz, Will Merrick, Yuliia Sobol, Justin Korovkin, Peppino Mazzotta, Cristina Donadio, Francesco Russo and Alida Baldari Calabria. The movie will be available for streaming on Netflix July 14.
