Amazon Prime Video’s Invincible introduced a ton of incredibly powerful heroes and villains to viewers. However, one of the most deadly was Battle Beast, who allied himself with Machine Head. Thanks to his incredible strength and fighting prowess, Battle Beast was able to take down Invincible, Titan and the new Guardians of the Globe, nearly killing some of them in the process. And while Battle Beast’s time on the show was limited, there’s a good chance he’ll return to Invincible in the future. So in preparation for that, here’s what you need to know about the backstory of Invincible‘s Battle Beast.
Created by Robert Kirkman and Ryan Ottley, Thokk/Battle Beast first appeared in 2004’s Invincible #19. Resembling a large lion, Battle Beast has a number of evolutionary advantages that make him a formidable foe. In addition to enhanced senses, his razor sharp fangs allow him to pierce the skin of a Viltrumite, which is a difficult task. However, he’s also proficient in various weapons, including swords, axes and maces.

Created by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley, Invincible was an Image Comics series that was published from 2003 until 2018. The first season of the TV series premiered in 2021 and was quickly renewed for a second and third season.
