Grand Theft Auto V is coming to the next-gen consoles later in the year. With this in mind, fans of the series are wondering how Rockstar plans to keep GTA Online alive with updates. Players are able to purchase futuristic vehicles such as a flying DeLorean and rocket-powered motorcycles.
Players were also given heists to complete as well as a new location to travel to. Despite the already long lifespan of the game, there is still more that can be added. While some major content additions would be a nice surprise, even small events to keep the game alive would be welcomed.
10 Players Should Get To Travel To A New Location
Cayo Perico was added to the game, but players can only explore it during the heist. The newest addition of Grand Theft Auto V should add a new location players can travel to. Luckily, there is already a location in the game to go to.
Rockstar could work on North Yankton and make it so players can travel to the area. North Yankton appears twice in the story, making it a destination players know about.
9 Bring Back Fan-Favorite Characters
A few characters from Grand Theft Auto IV returned for GTA Online, so why not add a few more? If new missions are added to the game, characters such as Yusuf Amir or Bernie Crane could be the bosses. Luis Lopez was also hinted by Tony Prince in the Nightclub Update, meaning he could potentially appear.
Even if the character has a one-off appearance, it would be a nice throwback to the last game. This happened in the 3D Universe of GTA, so why couldn’t it happen in the HD Universe?
8 Give Players Access To More Classic Cars
Not the biggest thing, but adding some more classic cars would be nice. Cars based on the Maserati 3500 GT or older versions of the Corvette make an appearance. Owning a classic car and driving it through the streets of Los Santos or around Blaine County will bring some enjoyment to the game.
Rockstar also brought back cars from the 1940s, with the Roosevelt and the Winky being from that time period. Although very unlikely, it would be nice to drive around in something inspired by the Model T.
7 Add Lobbies That Don’t Include The Destructive Vehicles
Sometimes people just want to complete missions or drive around Los Santos. It can be very stressful to see the symbol for a flying motorcycle or a Deluxo quickly approaching the player. It’s even more stressful to hear the lock-on noise from their rockets.
Players can go to passive mode, but then they won’t be able to complete free roam missions or attack any enemies. The problem isn’t other players attacking, it’s the fact these players have an unfair advantage. A special type of lobby that does not allow these types of vehicles would quickly fix this.
6 Bring Back The Fan Favorite Cops N’ Crooks Mode
Fans of Grand Theft Auto IV know about the Cops n’ Crooks mode. In it, one team ran away from the police team to make it to an escape vehicle. The vehicle would be on the other side of the map or on another island, meaning players needed to travel through Liberty City avoiding the cops.
The police team did not appear on the criminals’ map, meaning they were a surprise when encountered. Running from one side of San Andreas to the other would be fun, giving players a challenge while trying to escape.
5 Keep Peyote Plants On The Map Permanently
For a limited time, players were able to find peyote plants around Los Santos. Sadly they are not permanently available, instead being considered seasonal collectibles. The last time they appeared was February 18, 2021, for all of Versus Week.
Finding the peyote plant and interacting with it allows players to turn into animals. There are also special plants, with one located behind Franklin Clinton’s house turning players into Chop. With such a fun feature, it should be available all year.
4 Collectibles Let Players Explore The Map More
Collectibles were added for players to find starting with playing cards. These were added in The Diamond Casino & Resort update. Collecting all would reward players with a unique outfit in GTA Online, as well as Red Dead Online. Other collectibles include movie props, action figures, and hidden caches.
Like the playing cards, collecting all movie props or action figures would give players a unique outfit. The props gave an alien outfit and the action figures gave a superhero outfit. With how big the map already is, adding a few more collectibles seems possible.
3 Random Encounters Make The World Seem More Alive
The Diamond Casino Heist update added random events to GTA Online. The update made it so players could break Patrick McReary out of police custody and use him in the heist. Later the Los Santos Summer Special update added drug vehicles that players could steal. After stealing it, the vehicle can be returned to its owner for money.
The last time a random event was added was in the Cayo Perico Heist update. Players are able to find a sleeping guard and loot him for money or a key. The key unlocks a drawer during the heist, giving players a unique pistol. The guard will still appear after, but players will be given $7000.
2 Add More Places To Rob In Online
Heists were finally added to GTA Online, with more heists being added soon after. Players are able to rob banks, take part in drug deals, and break someone out of prison. Other heists were added that allow the player to save the world from clones and break into the casino vault.
There are still other types of heists that players could potentially take part in. Especially if a new area is added to the game, some heists can take place there as well.
1 The Epsilon Program Should Get A Bigger Role In Online
The Epsilon Program is a religion in the GTA universe. Despite it having missions relating to it in the story, the Epsilon Program barely appears in GTA Online. Despite this, players will have a vision of the program’s leader the first time they die. Players are also able to acquire Epsilon robes and a shirt in free roam.
Missions could be added that allows the player to help the Epsilon Program or even go against them. If Rockstar does want to add a few more heists, maybe breaking into their headquarters could happen in the future.
