Superman & Lois Promo Teases the Start of Steel’s War | CBR

WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for Superman & Lois Season 1, Episode 8, “Holding the Wrench,” which aired Tuesday on The CW.

The war between humans and Kryptonians that John Henry Irons spoke of is about to begin, as teased by the promo for next week’s episode of Superman & Lois, “Loyal Subjekts.”

The promo for Season 1’s ninth episode begins with Lois asking Jonathan why it is so hard to keep him safe, to which Jonathan replies, “It’s just part of being a superfamily.” This is followed by Jonathan asking his grandfather, Sam Lane, why he built the Kryptonite-based weapons to hurt Superman, to which Sam replies, “You haven’t seen the things I have.”

The promo ends with Lois saying that the aforementioned war is “about to happen,” followed by a glimpse of Superman bursting through the doors of a yet unknown building. Directed by Eric Dean Seaton and written by Andrew N. Wong, “Loyal Subjekts” airs June 8 on The CW.

The synopsis for Season 1, Episode 9, “Loyal Subjekts” states that Lois will work together with Clark and her editor Chrissy Beppo (played by guest star Sofia Hasmik) to figure out why Smallville so important to Morgan Edge (Adam Rayner). Edge is, of course, responsible for a few people gaining Kryptonian abilities via X-Kryptonite, a vein of which he found in Smallville. However, the previous episode, “Holding the Wrench,” suggested that those people may actually be hosts for Kryptonian consciousnesses.

Superman & Lois stars Tyler Hoechlin, Elizabeth Tulloch, Dylan Walsh, Alex Garfin, Jordan Elsass, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Inde Navarrette and Wolé Parks. The series airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
