The world of Naruto has seen the rise and fall of several heroes, right from the beginning of the age of shinobi when Hagoromo Otsutsuki started to spread chakra with Ninshu. Ever since then, every generation has produced shinobi who have worked wonders for the sake of protecting their people and maintaining peace throughout the world.
The Fourth Great Ninja War, in particular, saw the rise of several heroes who eventually helped deal with the threat of the utter destruction of the world with Infinite Tsukuyomi and then the revival of Kaguya Otsutsuki.
10 Hashirama Senju Created The Village Of Konoha
Hashirama was the leader of the Senju Clan back in his time and the man who rose to the top of his era with his strength alone. Together with Madara, Hashirama managed to take the first step in the right direction by joining forces and creating a village where people would prosper and kids wouldn’t have to go to war. Hashirama’s model was ultimately used by all the people of the world and thus the system of shinobi villages came to be, all thanks to him.
9 Minato Saved The Village From The Attack Of The Nine-Tails
Seen in the very beginning of the story, Minato Namikaze, the Fourth Hokage of the village, fought off the Nine-Tails and protected all his people. Later on, the story dived deeper into the events that unfolded that day and it was revealed that Minato not only fought off Kurama but also defeated Obito Uchiha. He also foresaw the perils that the world of ninja would face in the future and thus made Naruto Uzumaki a Jinchuriki. Had it not been for his efforts, Konohagakure would’ve been utterly destroyed.
8 Hiruzen Sarutobi Protected The Village With His Life
In the Konoha Crush arc of Naruto, the village was under attack by none other than Orochimaru, who had conspired with Sunagakure to achieve his goals. In a terrific battle that pushed Hiruzen Sarutobi to his limits, Orochimaru failed to destroy the village, all thanks to the Hokage’s strength and resolve to protect the village even when he was dying. By taking away Orochimaru’s arms from him, Hiruzen also managed to buy the village time to recover before ultimately dying a hero’s death.
7 Itachi Uchiha Gave His Life Up For The Sake Of The Village
One of the biggest heroes of Konohagakure, Itachi Uchiha was a loyal shinobi who is known to have attained the wisdom of a Kage by the age of seven.
As his clan started to plan a coup, Itachi took the side of the village and decided to kill his own clan members if it meant an all-out war was prevented and Sasuke’s life was spared. Even though his actions were for the sake of the village, Itachi carried the blame on his shoulders and lived with the burden for the rest of his life.
6 Tsunade Saved Countless Lives During Pain’s Invasion Of The Village
Tsunade Senju was made the Fifth Hokage of the village after the death of Hiruzen Sarutobi. Although she didn’t get involved in many major battles throughout the series, her role as a medical ninja was always shown to be pivotal to her people. During Pain’s assault on the village, it was Tsunade who helped save most lives, thanks to her medical ninjutsu and the usage of Katsuyu. A village could easily be rebuilt but the loss of lives would be much more difficult to cope with, which is why Tsunade prioritized the lives of her people and dedicated everything to save them.
5 Sakura Haruno Saved Countless Lives In The War
A student of Tsunade Senju, Sakura Haruno worked wonders in the Fourth Great Ninja War. Not only did she help fight the strongest of foes like the Ten-Tails, and even Madara Uchiha and Kaguya Otsutsuki, but she also saved countless lives in the war. Most notably, Sakura helped keep Naruto Uzumaki alive, and without her, the war would’ve been long lost. Undoubtedly, Sakura gained the status of a hero during this war.
4 Neji Gave His Life For Naruto & Hinata
A member of both Team Guy and Konoha 11, Neji was an important Jonin throughout the Fourth Great Ninja War and led a huge section of people in battle.
Being one of the strongest of the Hyuga, Neji played a big role in the war, fighting some powerful enemies of the opposing forces. Unfortunately, he ended up dying on the battlefield for the sake of Naruto and Hinata. His sacrifice bonded the two together and made them stronger than ever.
3 Kakashi Hatake Helped Defeat Kaguya Otsutsuki
Kakashi Hatake was one of the most powerful Jonin on the side of the Allied Shinobi Forces during the Fourth Great Ninja War and he played a key role throughout the war. Perhaps, his biggest contribution in the war came toward the very end when, thanks to Obito’s powers, he was able to fight against Kaguya Otsutsuki to quite an extent. Inflicting a serious injury to her, Kakashi paved way for Naruto and Sasuke to seal her away. His efforts in the war earned him the title of the Sixth Hokage.
2 Sasuke Uchiha Helped Naruto Seal Kaguya In The War
Both Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha played key roles in the Fourth Great Ninja War and although Sasuke caused quite a lot of trouble both before and after the arrival of Kaguya, his role in sealing her was extremely important to the story. Had it not been for Sasuke, the shinobi world would’ve been destroyed. Naruto Uzumaki needed him by his side to achieve his dream of world peace.
1 Naruto Uzumaki Saved The Entire World From Destruction
Naruto Uzumaki became a hero to his village after he defeated Pain and helped save the lives that were initially thought to have been lost in the attack. The Fourth Great Ninja War saw him move a step further and he was recognized by the entire world as a hero. Naruto’s efforts saved the world from destruction and he became the first person since Hagoromo to make peace with the Tailed Beasts.
