Task Force X is going undercover.
Director James Gunn shared a new image from his film The Suicide Squad on Twitter, which features Ratcatcher 2 (Daniela Melchior), The Thinker (Peter Capaldi), Bloodsport (Idris Elba) and Polka Dot Man (David Dastmalchian). His caption for a cropped version on Instagram notes that the characters are working undercover in Corto Maltese in this scene.
When a fan asked in response to this image whether the things sticking out of The Thinker’s head were VFX or practical makeup effects applied to Capaldi, Gunn answered, “Practical of course!”
The Suicide Squad will focus on Task Force X as they enter the rebel nation of Corto Maltese to complete a dangerous mission. Other stills from the film, released by Total Film, show the team in action, with Bloodsport and Ratcatcher 2 covered in blood and debris. The stills also show the team possibly meeting Peacemaker (John Cena) and Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman) for the first time.
