The CW’s 4400, the reboot of the 2004 USA Network series The 4400, has brought on five new actors as series regulars for the upcoming television program.
According to Deadline, the new actors joining the show are TL Thompson (The Hunted: NYCSS), Cory Jeacoma (Power Book II: Ghost), Ireon Roach (School Girls; or the African Mean Girls Play), Derrick A. King (Call Your Mother) and newcomer Autumn Best. The show, which features Riverdale co-executive producer Ariana Jackson and Walker executive producer Anna Fricke, serves as a re-imagining of the original USA Network sci-fi drama series.
Thompson will play Dr. Andre, a transgender man and doctor from 1920s Harlem. The show will see his character adjusting to 2021 while treating his fellow 4400, who he quickly realizes are perceived as a threat. Jeacoma will portray Logan, a husband whose wife, Shanice, went missing in 2005. After having raised their daughter alone for 16 years, Shanice returns without having aged a day.
Roach plays Keisha, a rule-oriented parole officer who is summoned by the government in response to the 4400. Because of a past tragedy, she fears that the returned populace may be a danger to society. Best will portray Mildred, one of the 4400 who disappeared in the 1970s. Despite her confusion after her arrival in 2021 Detroit, she quickly makes allies and seems content to leave her previous life behind.
Finally, King will play Reverend Johnson, one of the 4400 who was raised in a powerful and wealthy church family. Having originally disappeared in the 1990s, King’s character becomes a natural leader of the reappeared population due to his upbringing and experience with power. Arrow‘s Joseph David-Jones was previously cast as Johnson but has been moved to the role of Jharrel.
The premise of the reboot sees 4400 overlooked or marginalized people vanish without a trace over the course of 100 years. One day, all 4400 individuals return, not having aged a single day, and without any memory of what had happened to them. While the government attempts to control the situation and study the event, the 4400 begin to realize that they’ve returned with supernatural abilities and must grapple with the fact that their return may signify something larger.
The five new series regulars join David-Jones, newcomer Khailah Johnson, Brittany Adebumola (Grand Army), Jaye Ladymore (Chicago P.D.) and Amarr Wooten (American Housewife).
Created and written by Ariana Jackson, 4400 stars Joseph David-Jones, Ireon Roach, Brittany Adebumola, Cory Jeacoma, TL Thompson, Jaye Ladymore, Derrick A. King, Khailah Johnson, Amarr Wooten and Autumn Best. The series will air Mondays this fall on The CW.
