There are dozens of plotlines and characters that could play a role in the upcoming movie since lots of Captain America lore from both the comics and previous films have yet to be explored fully. However, there are some that would make for a more compelling and interesting story than others.

10 Sarah Wilson Is One Of The Most Important People In Sam’s Life

Sarah Wilson made her MCU debut in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier and quickly established herself as one of the most important people in Sam Wilson’s life. She also gave us an insight into what life was like for people who did not disappear when Thanos snapped his fingers, but still had to deal with the consequences of that.

Continuing to have her present in Sam Wilson’s story, especially in this new chapter, is crucial.

9 Patriot Can Honor His Grandfather

Patriot

Elijah Bradley, the hero called Patriot, was briefly featured in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier as the grandson of Isaiah Bradley. With the Young Avengers being set up in the MCU, having Eli become Patriot in the future is inevitable, and Captain America 4 is a great movie to do it in.

It would also continue the thread set up by Isaiah’s history being now known to the MCU by having him be a hero to honor his grandfather.

8 Diamondback: The Serpent Society Would Be The Perfect Follow-Up Villains To The Flagsmashers

Diamondback

Rachel Leighton, aka Diamondback, is a classic character from Captain America lore. At first, she was a villain who was a part of the Serpent Society, but later became more heroic and even dated Steve Rogers. Diamondback eventually joined Serpent Solutions, a group that Sam Wilson faced during his time as Captain America.

Either the Serpent Society or Serpent Solutions would be the perfect villainous group to follow the Flagsmashers, and she’d be the best potential member to focus on.

7 Sharon Carter’s Story Is Far From Over

Sharon Carter

Sharon Carter has always been a very important part of Captain America stories. In the comics, she is a longtime partner and ally to Steve Rogers, Bucky Barnes, and Sam Wilson, while also being a hero in her own right.

The MCU version of the character is currently the villain known as the Powerbroker. The ending of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier left her storyline pretty open for the future, and Captain America 4 would be a great place to see it continue.

6 Bucky & Sam’s Undeniable Chemistry Has So Much Potential

Winter Soldier

The Winter Soldier and Sam Wilson’s friendship has become one of the MCU’s best relationships and is beloved by fans. The two’s instant chemistry in Captain America: Civil War is the reason for their show together, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Now that’s over, fans are already wondering when the two will share the screen again.  Being that Winter Soldier is now a hero, and very close to Sam, his inclusion in Captain America 4 would be very natural.

5 Sin Could Reintroduce Hydra To The MCU

Sin

Sinthea Schmidt, also known as Sin, is one of the villains Sam Wilson faces when he is Captain America in the comics. She is the daughter of the popular Captain America villain Red Skull and debuted in Captain America Volume 1 #290 by J.M. DeMatteis and Ron Frenz.

Having Sin and Sam face-off would be interesting, as they would both be considered legacies of previous heroes. Also, Sin could be key to reintroducing Hydra to the MCU if they wanted to go that route.

4 The MCU Needs A New Falcon

Falcon

Now that Sam Wilson is Captain America, the MCU needs a new Falcon. Joaquin Torres, a character introduced in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, takes up this role in the comics.

He partners with Sam during his time as Captain America, and the two formed a mentor/mentee relationship. In the MCU, the two are already shown as friends that have been working together on government assignments. This could and should continue in Captain America 4.

3 Leila Taylor Is One Of Sam’s Greatest Allies

Leila Taylor

Leila Taylor was first introduced in Captain America Volume 1 #140, by Stan Lee and John Romita. She is one of Sam Wilson’s most trusted allies, and the two even dated for a period of time.

These days she is a reporter for the Daily Bugle. Introducing her in Captain America 4 would be a great way to bring a civilian into Sam’s life to help balance his life as a superhero. Also, the romantic angle would be great to see on screen.

2 Ant-Man Could Help Connect The Film To Other Projects

Ant-Man

Scott Lang, aka Ant-Man, started out as someone who Sam Wilson fought against in the movie Ant-Man.  In Captain America: Civil War, the two reunited, but this time fought alongside each other as friends against Iron Man’s team.

The two also have teamed up several times in the comics over the years. Having Scott appear in Captain America 4 would be nice so we can see their relationship develop, and connect the film to other MCU projects.

1 Misty Knight Deserves A Spot In The MCU

Misty Knight

Misty Knight is best known for her connection to the Heroes for Hire, and being one of the members of Daughters of The Dragon. She is a superheroine who is skilled in private investigation, and has a robotic arm that helps her in hand-to-hand combat.

During Sam Wilson’s time as Captain America in the comics, Misty was his partner and girlfriend. Misty Knight has appeared in the Netflix shows, but including her in this film could be the way to bring her into the proper MCU.
