Harry Potter: 10 Aurors Who Would Fit Into The DC Universe | CBR

The world of Harry Potter is filled with a lot of interesting components. Naturally, there are wizards and witches, not to mention more than a few fantastic beasts. But for a mystical, magical world, there’s a surprising amount of bureaucracy and rules which were upheld by the Aurors.

Like any other government, the offices that managed the wizarding world of Harry Potter and friends were a part of had law enforcement. These people were called Aurors, wizards and witches who were committed to defending the principles and laws that governed magic and its use. While they weren’t all the best people, there were also more than a few of them who would fit into the DC Universe quite well.

10 John Dawlish, A Respected Regular Auror

John Dawlish on the wrong side

This isn’t a name that many casual fans of the Harry Potter franchise would recognize immediately. But that doesn’t change the fact that he was as effective Auror and an established wizard, one that even Albus Dumbledore admitted to respecting.

Dawlish didn’t exactly set the wizarding world on fire the way many of his contemporaries did, but he did make a good henchman of sorts. He’s the kind of guy who would follow someone like John Constantine or Zatanna into battle, not lead the charge himself.

9 Alastor “Mad-Eye” Moody Was Auror, Wizard, And Warrior

“Mad-Eye” Moody was a fan-favorite character in both the movies and in the books. As one of the most powerful and highly respected Aurors of all time, he served with distinction in both Wizarding Wars. On top of that, the man was also a member of the Order of the Phoenix.

There are few teams in the DC Universe who would not benefit from the presence of someone with the experience and skill of someone like Moody. In particular, he would work well with a team like the Titans, possibly as a mentor to Raven.

8 Kingsley Shacklebolt Became A Political Force

The movies don’t quite capture the importance of Kingsley Shacklbolt. As an Auror working for the Ministry of Magic, he was incredibly important in working against the plans of Lord Voldemort. Without him in place, many of Voldemort’s plans within the Ministry may have worked out.

After the defeat of Voldemort, Shacklebolt eventually became the Minister for Magic. His power as a wizard combined with his skill as a politician would make him an interesting rival for Amanda Waller. It’s hard to intimidate someone with his abilities, which is Waller’s stock in trade.

7 Percival Graves, American Wizard & Director of Magical Security

Exceptionally little is known about Percival Graves’ personal life prior to him becoming an Auror. Presumably, he was exceptional at his job as he rose to the role of Director of Magical Security in the US. At some point in the 1920s, the criminal Gellert Grindelwald assumed his identity and hid in plain sight.

Keeping in mind that the ultimate fate of Graves is unknown, his legend is not. He was reputedly a powerful wizard, one that could have been a force for good. Graves most likely would have been an excellent addition to the Metropolis Police Department and would take a stand against the likes of Lex Luthor.

6 Theseus Scamander Was A Bit More Sensible Than Newt

After serving in World War I, Theseus Scamander was regarded in wizarding circles as a war hero. That combined with his proficiency as a wizard quickly launched him to the role of Head Auror. While he wasn’t as infamous as his brother, Newt, Theseus was still quite formidable.

Without question, Theseus would be a first-round draft pick for a team like the Titans or even the Justice League. And that’s not just because he’s a powerful wizard. The man had an unshakeable belief in doing what’s right, which makes him a good choice for any team.

5 Nymphadora Tonks Was A Warrior Born

Under the guidance of “Mad-Eye” Moody, Nymphadora Tonks became a respected Auror after graduating from Hogwarts. She would go on to marry Remus Lupin, a fellow member of the Order of the Phoenix. Killed by Bellatrix Lestrange, her death was avenged by Molly Weasley.

Nymphadora was more than an Auror or a witch. She was a skilled warrior who wanted to be on the front lines of any fight. If she’s going to team up with anyone in DC, it’s going to be Batman and she’d end up working with his personal team, The Outsiders.

4 Porpentina “Tina” Scamander Always Fights The Good Fight

Tina is always ready for a fight

Known to fans first as Porpentina Goldstein, this American witch and Auror would eventually go on to marry Newt Scamander. She also actually lost her job as an Auror at one point while defending Credence Barebone from his adopted mother. Helping defeat Grindelwald earned her position back.

Tina Scamander would be an excellent member of the Birds of Prey. In fact, her mystical prowess and sense of honor would be exactly what the team needed. Plus, it would be fun to watch Huntress unravel the name “Porpentina.”

3 Neville Longbottom Went From Zero To Hero

Like Harry Potter, Neville Longbottom lost his parents to Voldemort’s machinations. But in Neville’s case, his parents were driven insane and not killed. For his first few years at Hogwarts, Neville was clumsy and untalented. But he then became the hero who destroyed the last Horcrux.

Much of Neville’s life after Voldemort’s defeat was spent as a professor at Hogwarts, though he did also serve as an Auror for a time. Given his knowledge base, skill and bravery, this wizard would carve out a place in the DC Universe. His time would probably be best used training young heroes, though.

2 Ron Weasley Mostly Never Backed Down

Ron-Weasley-Scabbers

As a member of the Golden Trio alongside Harry Potter and Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley had a key role in all of the adventures they were all involved in. While he wasn’t always the best wizard, Ron rarely gave up and never stopped fighting.

That level of determination would make him a core member of the Justice League Dark. He would stand alongside them, taking on the worst mystical threats that DC has to offer. And they would come out on top with his help.

1 Harry Potter: The Chosen One & The Hero

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

While everyone played important roles in the journey, in the end, it was still Harry Potter who had to stand across from Voldemort and defeat him in battle. And that’s exactly what he did, keeping in mind that Hermione Granger did most of the heavy lifting to get him there.

Harry Potter would end up on the Justice League without question. He’s the top hero of his world, and would not hesitate to take on any of the superpowered threats lurking throughout the corners of the DC Universe.
